Make WebMs WebMCam Use this to easily capture clips from streaming content. Can capture audio, but currently if you do that you can’t also edit the frames and also it eventually loses synch after a long time. Resize the window over the stream, click record and play the stream  Stop recording, delete any frames you don’t want  Output: https://my.mixtape.moe/pqzsej.webm WebM For Retards Use this on downloaded video files. It’s pretty straightforward. Make Gifs ScreenToGif Gooncam Gifcam InstaGiffer Use to capture on-screen stuff similar to WebMCam. Gooncam doesn’t get updated anymore, rip EZGif Website that lets you crop, resize, reverse etc. etc. all online Upload Gifs Imgur Any gif over 2MB will get converted to a gifv. This is okay, SA supports it now. In fact it's good because a 50MB gif of an entire scene is now a tenth of the size. If you're using WebM for Retards and enabling sound on variable quality, there's generally no reason to have sound quality at anything other than 1. You won't notice a difference and if you do who cares it's only a webM. Always use the two pass HQ rendering tickbox too. Gifcam is another thing similar to the webm screen capture. Really easy to use, fairly customisable settings. Ah right. Also on the constant setting thing for webm for retards, if you're trying to get them under the 3mb limit for 4chan like the feature suggests it's for or otherwise, you're probably best setting your limit at a little under because it can't wholly guarantee a file size under the restriction. Like put it at 2.7 or so.

In case there are any OSX or Linux users out there..code:-copyts is needed for subtitle timing 'cause ffmpeg does some weird poo poo with times and other crap that I don't remember... For optional audio, either supply the codec and bitrate or set -an (no audio) I forget what -crf 4 does... -sn is no subtitles. I don't think webm supports embedded subtitles and fonts..? Set WIDTH to the amount of pixels (600 for 600 pixels wide). -1 follows the aspect ratio for height. The next part with "subtitles=INPUT_FILE" burns in the subtitles to the video itself. If it's an MKV, you just supply the mkv file here again. I'm not sure how to choose which subtitle stream. It seems to default to the first available stream. Of course, play around with the bit rate values for file size.. I'm not sure if they're constant or variable. I'm not sure if there's a single step around this problem... the first command outputs the file, but the length of the video is set to the source's length and not the actual length of the webm. Running the second command (instantaneous) just copies the streams into a new container, which seems to properly set the length... Needless to say, since you don't have visuals and you're supplying your own time in optional milliseconds, getting accurate video may be arduous and probably way more time consuming than using a GUI app. Also, gfycat seems to like to cut short webms, whereas pomf.se retains the full video.

crf is the quality for variable bitrate. Lower number is higher quality 4 seems really low though... 16 to 20 is usually fine, depending on the content.
