But, yes, being physically close helps psychologically as well.

Not all fat awkward creepy stalkers are pedos. When I was manic I kept my attentions focused on women my own age, and do in my normal mind as well. We fat awkward creepy stalkers don't want him.

Hey, Derek Smart, what are you up to these days? Are you working on a game or some other creative project or have you moved on to other stuff, like accounting and marriage or whatever? Not that any of those are exclusive, really. Just thought it would be neat to see some recent stuff. I haven't heard your name since Battlecruiser 2000(or something like that) but keeping tabs on tabletop rpg indie guys is more my thing, so I haven't really kept up on the video games front. Regardless, continue doing the Lord's work.

spacetoaster posted:Can you recommend a good one for my kids and I to play? We do Space Hulk, Battletech, and Deathstorm (pretty much every GW boardgame too). I've been looking for something new to try. Beyond the Wall is pretty cool. It's an OSR game (old school revolution, essentially shorthand for based on one of the really early D&D sets, though usually with plenty of custom stuff) meant to be played as short adventures and during character creation the players link themselves into the childhoods of the other players and help design their shared home village. The adventures, character kits and GM materials are really trying to evoke the storybook, coming of age, fairy tale vibe. Can't remember who's behind this one. Another cool option is Mouseguard, based on a comic by the same name. It's based on a modified version of the Burning Wheel game by Luke Crane, I believe. It's about badass mice who fight to defend their homes and loved ones. It's certainly not indie, but the newest edition of Dungeons and Dragons is actually really good and much easier to get a grasp on than previous versions. Part of this is because they decided to look back to their roots, and simplify a lot. If you like sci-fi, I recommend Stars Without Number by Kevin Crawford. He's my current man crush and I feel everything he does is golden. Stars Without Number is available for free. For board games, I'm partial to Pandemic. It's a cooperative race against time to find the cures for multiple epidemics before the world is doomed. Each player gets a specialist and planning and working together is the way to go.

Dammit guys, Subway doesn't say Eat Fresh any longer! Now they say Fresh Is What We Do which is even worse. I wonder how much they paid marketing to walk right into that one?

I certainly get that Chris Roberts has a passion for storytelling and especially seems compelled to work with cinema techniques and bring in Hollywood buddies, etc. Even the original Wing Commander game was largely framed as a movie, (Good ol' Bluehair) so why doesn't Roberts just make a loving movie and not some weird movie/game hybrid, as it has always felt that both halves got about half the attention they deserved in his games. Or was the Wing Commander movie actually his baby? If he had full creative control on that one, it would be best on the next go round to delegate to more experienced directors when needed and to take on advisors who he will listen to and are willing to tell him no. All I vaguely remember from the WC movie is some stupid necklace, a laughable rubbery kilrathi dude and that it was bad and boring. The in-universe rag for the Tiger's Claw crew was the greatest thing when I was ten. I miss cool box inserts.

Then made it difficult for him to stay on his diet. Maybe this is the only way he knows how to get out of the hell he is trapped in without destroying all that he loves. He's subconsciously martyring himself by taking on all of this hate so he can be fired with minimal harm to the project as a whole so he can be freed from his sugar-glazed cage. If he makes his removal look like his fault, then no one else could be blamed, least of all his idol Roberts.
