TBH, I just wish they had figured out how to make the gun combat integrate better with the movement. Because as clunky as the gun combat was, it was so much better than the unarmed combat.

The only thing I can think of is making it so you can still move more or less unrestricted with a pistol. I really don't know how they would make gun combat better in general. Having to put away and take out a rifle / shotgun / machine gun would ruin the flow.

I haven't had time to watch the gameplay video yet, though. Maybe they'll impress me.

I finally watched the half hour of gameplay. Looks like a lot of fun, and it seems like maybe the melee combat is improved enough that it won't be awful? It's hard to tell until you're playing it yourself. We haven't even seen any of the open world aspect yet either.

I really like the idea of being able to dodge bullets as long as you keep doing sweet tricks. That was the problem with running from the cops in the first one. You really couldn't do anything to avoid getting shot once in a while. It usually didn't get you killed because they were such bad shots that you would rarely get hit, but if there were a bunch of dudes with machine guns sometimes you just died from bad luck.

Uncharted 2 and 3 had the same problem. Eventually I got used to the timing/distance on getting into cover, but I never stopped getting caught snapping to cover instead of dodging.
