Looking at this from the perspective of someone who hasn't played in a loooong time until recently and is very ill-informed: When I was playing eight or so years ago The Mittani's public in-game persona was always about spin, generating hurf from BoB/et al., and ~the narrative~. As a line member all I remember seeing from him was propaganda posts and leaked enemy chatlogs on gf.com that were mostly entertainment. I can certainly see how he pissed off the entire EVE playerbase against him/goons. That was kind of his thing. Regardless of the intent, the TMC.com/H1Z1/kickstarter/what have you just fed into the cult story. Seems like at some point Mittani lost control of said narrative, or at least failed at disseminating his version of it. It's no wonder everyone came out of the woodwork to curbstomp the evil goon menace when the opportunity arose and is crowing their asses off about how quickly Deklein fell. That said, I can't help but  at the d-name folks who were on board as long as things were going well, jumped ship only after poo poo hit the fan, and started trolling as hard as they could.

what is typical high-value loot that gets plastic wrapped? seems to me that if you're running a cargo-carrying ship somewhere in highsec and you've got plastic wrapped loots in your hold, you're basically baiting gankers to see how lucky they might get

Thanks guys. Dr. Pangloss, I'm sorry to hear you're dealing with this too. Pets are great friends, and it's a damned shame they don't live as long as we do. In slightly brighter news I applied to put my mining alt in RVCMF last night, ran my first successful burner mission two-boxing a Kestrel and a Griffin, and I discovered that a Noctis beats the crap out of MTUs and a salvaging Cormorant. I'm getting tired of highsec krabbing though so I may take a break to play the new Witcher expansion and Uncharted 4 while I figure out which goon corp I want to join. Wormholes sound interesting to me, so maybe GSF/Hole Squad.

Within my first two weeks after starting a new account I rescued a guy who had jumped into a hole he found in Perimeter, forgot to bookmark the entrance, somehow warped to a moon uncloaked and got popped by a POS. He didn't want to trash his implants and was asking in noob corp chat for help. I did not get a nice payday, but it was cool helping someone out.
