I need to drive my E39 more. I spent all day charging the battery, only to find that there's a bee making a home in the right rear wheel. I don't know what those little holes are for, but I'm pretty sure they're not supposed to be filled with pollen and have a bee in them.

When he/she figured out that they were completely hosed in the class, pulled out the "I have ADD" card and is tying to unfuck themselves. Not going to happen. He/she actively made choices over the course of the semester. There are consequences for those choices. In this case? The consequence is a big ol' F. You cannot make up the in-class lectures and material provided in them, by "getting an incomplete." I'll teach the same class next semester, feel free to re-register next semester, slacker. keykey posted:I felt your response was fairly straight forward. Sinestro posted:And on perfect timing, I finally got graded work from my stupid online programming class back, giving us the entire semester at once. Now I mathematically can't get anything better than an D, because I used "// Bonus:" instead of "// BONUS:" in my assignments and a couple didn't compile because I used C++11 features and I guess the professor decided that in TYOOL 2016 g++ -std=c++98 is still the way to go, but then again he's the kind of person who doesn't know how to use grep -i in his grading script and responded with "I'll be offering the class again in the fall" when I asked him about any kind of a correction because I turned in a litany of perfectly correct work that demonstrates a level of knowledge well beyond what's required by the class. "I'll be offering the class again in the fall" is one of the harshest "gently caress you" replies you'll get from a professor, fyi. Sounds like there may be more than a minor mistake at play.

Sinestro posted:I don't know what I did. I mean, if he can see that I've not opened any of his lectures maybe he's angry at me for that, but it's not my fault that my school has a credit by examination policy not far from "gently caress off". I shouldn't be in this class at all, it's the basic 'intro to computar do the things' when I've taken most of the higher classes already by challenging the pre-req and gotten all As there and I've been programming since I was like six, but it turns out the class is required now. So it was an online class and you didn't even open the lectures? Yes, he can see that. He can probably see when you log on, how much time you spend on and what you open/use while you're on. If you didn't engage with any of that, you basically told him that you knew everything already and your poo poo would be straight correct. poo poo wasn't straight correct and... welp.

Damned truck was running perfectly with the dash showing I averaged right at 20mpg, which was the best the truck had ever done. My wife and I have different accounts based on our perspective. I saw one, thought "poo poo, there's gonna be another (because deer always travel in groups)." As soon as I thought that, and before I could even get on the brakes, the second one was RIGHT in front of us and a third was right behind it. No chance to brake, no chance to swerve (and no point, since there were deer on either side). My wife says there were way more than three deer, which is totally possible, I was just "target focused" on what was immediately in front of us. Guess what has to happen when attendance dips? Sorry people, we have to trim the fat somewhere and it's usually in the area of part-timers and then it's by newer hires first unless older faculty/classified/managers want to take a golden parachute. I've worked in it for 15 years. I know the way the system works. There's still a difference between state funded schools and straight for-profit schools. I looked at teaching at a for-profit school. Lasted all of the orientation meeting where it was entirely focused on taking attendance at multiple times of the class session to document who was present and when, so that the financial aid could be kept properly... there were no shits given for the scripted curriculum. At least at a State school I can teach what I want, when I want, how I want, as long as I stay within some very broad goals/guidelines.
