THE LONG WALK 14: May Want to Stand Back  so what's this then this is where you get to do something about writing that novel you've always had inside you and can finally get all the sounds cool how does it work round about the first day of every month I put a thread up and you post in it to say how much new writing you're gonna post by 2359 PST on the last day of that month. there might be a little general leeway at the end of the month, but don't count on it and don't ask for extensions. lol imma post one word 'lol' there I won lol there's a 4k word minimum. you can pledge more if you like, but 4k is the ante. how many terrible words have been written through this thread and the ones before it? 1,900,000. Some of them might have been good? idk what happens if I gently caress it up every promise has to have a  attached. you fail, you get banned.how should I post my stuff up to you, but a link to a gdoc with comments enabled is best that way you won't restrict your publication options later. can I do short stories sure. Lots of different little projects this month. 435 expanding Calvin's Business  2659 expanding Miss Maron's 3rd Grade Class  430 for some private creative writing  642 so far in my duel with sparksbloom  1053+879 TD words this month  Two subs in May ---------------------------------- All totaled comes to 6098 words and 2 subs.

Well, I broke my rule about always moving forward with my novel. I took a look at the last section I wrote in April and realized it was utter poo poo that didn't tie in to my planned ending. So, I trashed it. And then I finished the goddamn thing. Grand total words, 85,011. 7,191 new words this month. 6,195 words of actual growth from last month. So, with a bit of a deficit on my 10k, I wrote two short stories. Curiosity, totaling 2,890 words.  Jack, a complete re-write of one my TD entries from last month, with 4,802 words.  The grand total of new words for the month is 14,883.

Boy this month sucked. Next month I will suck less. 2482 Thunderdome words + 6855 words on a "for fun" novel that I use to procrastinate on my main novel:  + 1189 words on a brawl (not yet finished)  + 3200 on actual novel   + 1262 on some flimflam  Which equals out to 14988. Here is a haiku to finish me off: Each step is quite small The mountains all look the same And yet, you arrive 15000. Done. Next month I will for no TD words

I'm posting to you through space and time and remote help call procedure because I didn't synchronize all my devices before liftoff. Because this month was real stressful with my first release, unexpected family illness, house repair shitfest, and piss monsters, I've indulged my perfectionism and book 2 of romancery has a mix of >36k new and rewritten words. Act 1 totally needed a rigorous facelift and then a nip & tuck, this wasn't gratuitous self-soothing I swear.  About 42,600 rewritten words on the front of this hot mess.  And something I'm calling Triplet Peaks for now and is in bad need of an outline before I go much further with it. Here's to a calmer June.
