Also the Zero series gets a lot easier as it goes along BUT if you dont care about rank pumping yourself with upgrades does a lot to easy the difficulty curve in the earlier games the EX moves are fun tho

the start of NG+ for va11-hall-a has an extra scene that makes it pretty clear how to get each ending as for the pure drink as far as i can tell you can give him anything, a zen star worked for me with my reasoning its perfectly balanced in ingredients but it seems people gave him other stuff and it was fine
