Civil War II is not only a blatant attempt to milk money out of the movie-only fans (as all Marvel comics are these days), but it's premise is entirely stupid. It's Minority Report with comic book characters. What person of even slight moral soundness, as comic book super-heroes are generally supposed to be, would advocate blaming someone for a thing that they have not done?

Cool OP. At least as far as we know from the FCBD preview, the inciting incident of using someone who can predict the future (something that superheroes have tried to do a lot whether through psychic powers or time travel or magic or etc. etc. etc. etc.) is to have an early warning system for when Thanos is coming to Earth to try to do Thanos things. At least in the first issue, it's less Minority Report and more "we have radar now". But it's probably just a blatant gently caress you to the fans and pandering to fake movie geeks and gently caress you to the fans and milking the gently caress machine hosed. Good call.

Edge & Christian posted:Cool OP. There is no controversy with having an early warning system for threats to humanity. That is not where the point of the series lies. The conflict is in the classic determinism vs. free-will debate. That is where the series will lead. This has been confirmed. It is literally Minority Report. http://www.wired.co.uk/news/archive/2016-01/11/marvel-civil-war-ii-details

Neither of the published Civil War II comics out so far really line up with a press release from six months ago, but okay.

We don't need a separate thread for this. Especially one off to a great start like this.
