Please explain to me how playing online halo and cowwa doody are at all an enjoyable experience because I've tried it and I'm just not seeing it.

Also one of my fraternity brothers in college played pro halo for MLG so that might explain why they give me a bad taste in my mouth.

I think I kinda hate playing online games period because people are garbage, especially those on the internet who play video games

But running around at 100 mph murdering demons left and right is fun, so you should play doom

you could play Overwatch vs bots and then the 12 year olds would be on your side

then again, you'd suffer the shame of playing vs bots

I kinda wish Battleborn was better because at least they had co-op that wasnt just botmatch

I think I saw a thing where the lead dev said his favorite game that he was the best at when he was younger was Half Life 1 deathmatch, and if that's true then Overwatch makes a lot more sense

I enjoyed the hell out of crowbar smacking people back in the day too but I wouldn't say Overwatch even has that kind of balance

Like every weapon was a legit threat in HL1, even the pistol only took a few shots to take someone out. Try shooting the wrong dude with the wrong weapon (character) in Overwatch and it'll just piss them off and get you dead when they notice

demos just record inputs and gamestate, and you replay them by running those things back through the client. They're trivial to include in a game and way less computationally intensive than taking a video of the screen

Does the highlight reel not do that? Seems wasteful if they record video. But I can see not including a more detailed demo option cause that means potential tech support costs.

they have said that "someday" they want to release proper support for demos apparently. i don't think it ever sves them to disk, they only last for one session of the game client so you can get the play of the game and stuff. i guess it has something to do with this thing theyre doing with facebook for sharing whatever, and they haven't defined an external file format or something? idk how demos normally get encoded, it strikes me that it ought to be prettty simple

That makes more sense actually. Sounds like typical Blizzard, they love to sit on features and such until they can roll out something over the top
