Kentucky never led after like 10 minutes left in the 4th. I think more people remembering UGA having Tennessee and Tech beat and then loving blowing it. It's way funnier and worse.

Giving a coach a good extension assuredly helps recruiting so it doesn't seem like the guy is on the way out in the next couple years, but it's still mostly down to how the buyout is structured.

got some hot, hot contract extension news for yall

FB Scoops posted:

Louisiana Tech: Skip Holtz, who won Conference USA’s Coach of the Year Award after last season, has agreed to a five-year extension worth $3.5 million. He will average $700,000 annually, which is a $200,000 per year pay raise from his previous deal. LA Tech went 9-5 this past season and Holtz is 31-22 overall.

Washington: Chris Petersen has inked a 3-year extension through 2023 that will bump his salary from $4 million to $4.875 million, according to Pete Thamel of Sports Illustrated. The extension makes Petersen the highest-paid coach (among publicly available contracts) in the Pac-12. Petersen led Washington to its first Pac-12 title in a decade and a half last season.

Great. That means Holtz is gonna be gone.

Glad for Petersen getting paid, good for him.

I love that Washington made out like bandits when they lost Sarkisian. They got their coach poached which ended up being great for them, since they dodged a bullet with all of Sarkisian's drama and ended up getting a better coach and making the playoffs.

He is an analyst, so that's likely what he is going to be doing.

Right, I wouldn't want him making any decisions but if you look back to what Borges did with Jason Campbell, Cadillac and Ronnie Brown in 2004 that's maybe not the worst guy to have in a room bouncing ideas around for how to build an offense around a not super mobile QB like Jarrett Stidham.

I mean, that's kinda silly money for a guy who's only experience as an OC has been in the NFL and includes (exclusively) the 32nd, 29th, 22nd, and 27th ranked offenses by yards and 29th, 31st, 20th, and 32nd ranked offenses by points.
