I'm proud of my sister. She even skips the ads with an angry finger, because it's not the video she clicked on. Oh yeah... I also did tell my parents they'll prob be stuck with a hyperactive child in the future, but seeing as they think even vaccines are bad. Oh well! I'm proud of the iGeneration. Can't wait till she starts watching Pewdiepie by herself, firmly anchoring her in today's culture. How's your iGen doing?

Seems like a good way to spend this extremely important period of brain development! I'm sure she will end up socially well-adjusted with an adequate working memory and attention span!

my best friend had a kid he wasn't ready for. he is just about to turn 2 and can't talk but can pick up a phone and browse youtube like a motherfucker. like he knows how to turn on the phone and scroll to the YouTube app. it's all he ever wants to do and he cries pretty much whenever he's not watching a video. it's really sad.

Hahaha yes, prune all brain circuitry and neural connections used for things other than sitting passively! I'm sure this will end well for that child, she will be successful at school and life!

Get her off the loving phone for christsake. Talk to her, play with her, go outside, move around. Read a picture book. Build a fort, have a pillow fight. Go to the park. Play make-believe, play dress-up.

American Academy of Pediatrics posted:Television and other entertainment media should be avoided for infants and children under age 2. A child's brain develops rapidly during these first years, and young children learn best by interacting with people, not screens.

The next generation will compete with us for jobs. Most of us can expect to remain in the workforce into our 70s. You know what needs to be done.

Also when the parents are away, the babysitter also gives her the iPad so she can browse youtube's baby vids section. So she's pretty much in front of a screen 8 hours a day. I've given way early about policing my parent's child (mostly because I'm never there) seeing as how they've been happy that she stops crying when in front of a screen since she's 6 months.

These obviously grow up to be PYF posters who helpfully identify porn stars from some blurry horribly artifacted screenshot. Man I remember when we had to dig through the woods to find porn
