I have a friend who likes Ghostbusters and Christmas so I tried to get them the Stay Puft marshmallow man tree ornament that Hallmark put out in 2012 but the average price online comes out to about $100 Australian (including postage). The 2019 Hallmark Peter Venkman ornament is going for about $50. I'll pass on those.

Weirdly enough that seems to be an officially licensed kit from a lovely 1984 anime series
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ch%C5%8D_K%C5%8Dsoku_Galvion
...... which was itself a ripoff of Super Dimension Fortress Macross so I guess it still counts in a roundabout way

But it also turns out that the model production company ARII were no strangers to crappy knockoffs, here's some of their classic 1978-80 plastic kits:

They're insanely collectable and these days those kits sell for hundreds and hundreds of dollars: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/143147691334

It's really weird because they seem to have had the actual license for Robocop (at least the Animated TV series)

But that was in the early 90s, so maybe they did the knockoffs for the movies, and then got the actual license for the animated show?

Hmm, the plot thickens.

They partially reused the card design from an actual licensed Toy Island Robocop figure:

Here's one from my childhood. The rude puppet Agro which was a mainstay of kids afternoon TV here in Australia in the 80s:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_htLQwSx6Bg

.... was just an Animal puppet with the red fur shaved off, the rest of his fur dyed brown and the irises drawn slightly larger

The teeth, tongue and eyes are the giveaway.
