GoodBee posted:There hasn't been any mention of packaging decks with any future V2 cards. It sounds like the V2+ update cards will be in a pack of their own. They've said they will be releasing annual "update packs" containing all the cards that were changed during the course of the year. I doubt they'll put the v2 cards into the faction decks. The plan seems to be buy the faction deck and the most recent year's update pack.

Sadly I already have a lot of the faction. Just looking to pick up a few last things I never got to in MKII. I think I've seen more Cryx fire sales than Skorne, which amuses me greatly.

How does this look for an anti-infantry list? The plan would be to jam with the Karax, use the Bloodrunners/tormentor/void spirit to pull out troublesome solos, march the Titans into a zone or rough up the enemy while the shaman/cannoneer/extoller provide some ranged destruction (the shaman casting far strike for range 14 ghost shots, the cannoneer 16" grievous AOEs). And then Makeda kills everyone. Fuel Cache - Steamroller Objective Makeda & the Exalted Court - WB: +24 - Makeda & the Exalted Court (Cont.) - Titan Gladiator - PC: 14 (Battlegroup Points Used: 14) - Cyclops Shaman - PC: 8 (Battlegroup Points Used: 8) - Titan Cannoneer - PC: 17 (Battlegroup Points Used: 2) - Bronzeback Titan - PC: 18 Mortitheurge Willbreaker - PC: 4 Void Spirit - PC: 4 Extoller Soulward - PC: 3 Paingiver Bloodrunner Master Tormentor - PC: 4 Paingiver Beast Handlers - Leader & 5 Grunts: 7 Praetorian Karax - Leader & 9 Grunts: 11 Paingiver Bloodrunners - Leader & 5 Grunts: 9

waah posted:Indeed. Saxon is probably the best choice overall since you can give Karax pathfinder, or Makeda pathfinder even if both of her dudes are dead. Thanks to you and GoodBee for the suggestion here. I ran the list today against a buddy's High Reclaimer list which had 2 units of Bastions, a unit of Idrians and a crapton of other stuff. I used my Bronzeback under Hand of Death to chew through almost a full unit of Bastions and left it threateningly close to his caster. On his turn he feated and brought the bastions back and had them all charge the Bronzeback. Which left a lovely chain of dudes for Makeda to pacman through under her feat/HoD and get to Reclaimer, and finish him. Which she would not have been able to do if I hadn't had Saxon to giver her and her buddies pathfinder so they could charge over a wall. Bastions are definitely not Makeda's preferred target. Since so much depends on her killing a model I had to eventually do enough damage to kill the 3 remaining members of the unit before the last one between her and Reclaimer had the decency to die. It's not quite Butcher2 or Madrak2 but it's a moment of living the dream.

In the rules full advance just says "The model advances up to its current speed (SPD) in inches". Aim, Forfeit, Full Advance, Run and Charge are all different options under "Normal Movement." You just get to choose one. "Full Advance" is kind of a technical term here and is just a different thing than running or charging. (Pages 30-31 of Prime)

gannyGrabber posted:What really bugs me is the whole "this faction is getting new theme forces/models before this faction" thing is VERY warhammer fantasy and not in a good way. Oh well, maybe they won't gently caress it up! But the way they're rotating through all the factions in a year means that, sure, Trolls and Menoth get theirs first but then they have a full year to wait for the next thing and everybody else gets something new in between. I really doubt they'd put out multiple Cygnar books before Circle gets a new one, for example. After this initial year it's a circle you can begin measuring anywhere.

No, I get that, I'm legitimately asking what other content is in these books aside from what that small number of items which will eventually be in war room/on cards anyway. This just seems like a terrible business model.

Can you hold off a month? The errata coming in January is going to change Skorne significantly - hopefully for the better - and there's no telling what will be "essential" after that (besides Beast Handlers. Always be buying beast handlers).

True, those will almost always be good. I'd definitely hold off on assembling the heavy in a particular configuration (or go with magnetizing) or picking up any infantry units until the errata drops.
