It's why Clinton surrogates seem so baffled by actual leftist criticism now, and have to resort to nonsense like "Berniebros"--the vast majority of previous criticism of her has boiled down to right-wingers screaming about the fact that she's a woman and/or making the accusation that she personally murdered people. The Democratic party has relied too heavily on pointing at the looniest Republicans available and saying "hey, at least we're not THOSE guys", and Hillary is a very good example of that.
