I like that Clark is a bit awkward even in Superman mode and Lois and Jimmy seem fun as well (in the case of the former I believe this is the actress’ first voice role)

Batman Vs TMNT was pretty fun too

The opening and the latest trailer seem to imply that Lois and Jimmy will figure out Clark’s secret fairly early on (or at least I hope so anyway)

As for villains, Brainiac already has a confirmed VA, this is a Superman series so I assume we’ll get a Luthor of some kind, and what looks to be an Eradicator is present at the end of the opening

Livewire was the most successful invention of the Superman animated series, but I think the series in general was a lot less influential than Batman Animated. It didn't really create the definitive versions of characters in the same way.

Actually I forget, aside from Livewire did STAS really have any other lasting effect on the main DC universe (since much like Harley Quinn the former was eventually added to the comics/other media and became an at least somewhat reoccurring member of Superman’s rogues gallery)?

Edit: Oh yeah, it introduced Mercy Graves too

Speaking of, it is kind of interesting/refreshing that the show doesn’t even bother going into the origin story (or at least, not fully) and instead just more or less gets right into the thick of it.

Also not only do Lois and Jimmy look like adult versions of Luz and Gus from The Owl House but they sort of act like them as well (I would not be surprised if Clark’s identity gets revealed to them sooner rather than later), though the former has some shades of SPoP Adora as well

On another note, I like how the backstory is being doled out in piecemeal as opposed to getting dumped on us all at once like in the previous animated series.

Also we’re only two episodes in and I think this show already has my favorite versions of Lois and Jimmy (this interpretation of Clark is really good too)

Larryb

And we have another villain confirmation for the series (this one isn’t even from Superman, which I guess means potentially the entire DC universe is fair game for this show):

I was sorta hoping with the announcement that there's no Lex Luthor in season 1 that they'd do something like Spectacular Spider-Man where they spend the first few episodes talking about "the big man" who runs everything and provides origins for a lot of the costumed villains AND then turns out to be Tombstone and they do something pretty cool with him to boot.

Wait, where was this confirmed?

So we’ve got Brainiac, Livewire, Slade, Heat Wave, and Mr. Mxyzptlk confirmed so far. Who am I missing?

It seems promising so far based on the first two episodes at least

Larryb
Oct 5, 2010

Back to Superman, I just watched the third episode. I was sort of expecting Heat Wave to be next given the recent tweet but Intergang was good too.

I’m really hoping Clark reveals his identity to Lois and Jimmy sooner rather than later since he literally lives with the latter and the former already suspects he’s (or at least Superman’s) full of crap

In regards to Lois, I’ve gotta say that Alice Lee is really good for what’s apparently her first voice acting job

Also if the Wikipedia article is correct, we’ve got a few more confirmed characters for the series now: Lana Lang, Parasite, and Supergirl

As previously mentioned, in most versions he used to have red hair but then lost it in a lab accident. And that's where we get into the always tricky comic book problem of alternate universes and continuities. Sometimes the accident is vaguely Superman related, sometimes not.

Did STAS use the lab accident story out of curiosity? I know he was already bald when he first met Superman at least

There’s also the fact the new guy’s name is Alex (Luthor’s full name is Alexander Luthor) and as mentioned in another thread he’s also shown assisting in active supervillainy (and enjoying it):

Back to MAWS, I’m glad Lois found out about Clark sooner rather than later (or not at all as I believe was the case in STAS), looking forward to seeing where things go from here
