I wonder if each episode will be the same length, or if they won't edit the movies and just let them flow for however long they are.

Ensign_Ricky posted:Just remember, we want that to primarily list good jumping on points for the show, not just personal favorites. I tried to use Hobgoblins to introduce my wife and it took her two years to give the show another shot. When the show was still on, I was 12 and my sister was 8, and my 8 year old sister legit liked Hobgoblins enough to get mad at Mike and the bots mocking it. I showed it to her recently, and she said her kid self must have been insane.

Parts: The Clonus Horror is almost good to me. A rewrite and a non-TV-movie budget would have helped. It's better than its rip-off, The Island. I genuinely enjoy Phantom Planet. It's not good, but I like old dumb talky scifi movies. Mitchell feels like a lost pilot to a TV series ala Columbo or McMillan and Wife. I'd probably watch that show.

TL posted:I've said this before, but Mitchell is actually a decent movie. It's biggest failing is the lack of any sympathetic/likable characters. We're supposed to root for Mitchell, and he's just such a mess you can't. Remake Mitchell with Danny McBride and it would be hilarious.

Future War is probably in my top 3. I never really do top lists, but Future War is so great as a riff, it's always one I think of to get people into MST3K.

I just picked up a double feature of Earth vs The Spider and The Screaming Skull for $9 at Walmart. They had a couple other MST3K DVDs for $7.50. Not a bad deal.

"The Brute Man" is the first one I saw when I was 8 or 9. Sold me on it then and there, and I still watch the show all the time 20 years later. The Chicken of Tomorrow has really stuck with me for some reason.

Diabolik900 posted:Mallon actually went through a bit of a personal crisis a few years back and ended up starting a new career as a therapist. This is entirely just my speculation now, but it could be that that played a role in him being willing to give up the show. Is there an article about this somewhere? Sounds interesting. Also, I'm watching Jack Frost for the first time, and this movie kind of owns.

I loved Man of Steel, but BvS was one of the worst movies I've ever seen. I hope Justice League is better. Anyway, The Horrors of Spider Island is a tough movie to get through. It took me about four tries to get through it.
