For a stretch of time Magic Voice was played by Mary Jo.

The Deadly Bees is an underrated smash hit. The movie itself feels like it was two rewrites and and injection of money away from being a halfway decent movie, and something about it being so close, and also being about bees, makes its cheesiness that much more laughable.

e: the bowler cap guy at the end

A big problem with The Deadly Bees is that the Manfred stuff is done in a completely stupid manner. Like the terrible fake grey hair to make him look older just so they could show a picture of "young" him on a book about bees.

Head's up, the latest Rifftrax Kickstarter hit a stretch goal and so they're going to do a new riff of Final Justice.

Mary Jo has actually teamed up with Bridget Nelson and they've been putting out stuff for Rifftrax.

The Horrors of Spider Island is great. I love the opening skit, Crow's really funny in it.

The bit where Mike is recreating the opening is pretty fun. Especially how they use perspective to make it look like his legs are twenty feet long.

So Bridget and Mary Jo are still trucking along doing their own riff stuff and this week they released their own version of Angel's Revenge.

So wait, are you guys getting ALL the episodes or just episode 1?

At 12am Pacific episode 1 will be made available for all backers who went for at least that level. It will only be available for 24 hours and tomorrow afternoon there is going to be a scheduled simul-watch where afterwards there will be a special chat room in which Jonah and Joel will answer questions.

On Thursday anyone who backed at the level where they get a digital download of the season will have all episodes made available.

Edit: Minor correction, on Tuesday they get access to stream the season but on Thursday they get to download it.

I thought the opening bit was a little rough and I'm not sure on the new theme song but once they actually get into the theater and started riffing it was solid gold.

However, the payoff to the whole "TV's Son of TV's Frank" joke is pretty great.

Something I thought was kind of weird was how it looks like the opening has Mary Jo in it but she doesn't show up in the first episode.

Is the new season getting DVD releases eventually as well or will it remain an exclusive Netflix thing?

Yes, one of the rewards/items in their store is a "Season 11" box set.

Netflix has/had a thing where if you're watching a bunch of episodes in a row it will periodically between episodes pop up a timer and ask if you're still watching.

Something I think is pretty interesting is that they also make jokes that reference Rifftrax stuff. Like in Cry Wilderness they do a joke about Megaforce.

I'd be real curious how popular this show is. Kickstarter was a runaway success, but does that mean Netflix or some other producer would front the bill for another season, or will they do a another crowd funding approach I wonder.

Can't help but imagine everyone involved would be down for another season- they look like they're havin' a blast.

The only way this is getting another season is if Netflix foots the bill. Which is why Joel and co were begging everyone who backed to watch it on Netflix first time through.

It's really cool to hear jokes about The Wire and They Might Be Giants and Fallout right along with jokes about The Beatles and old commercials. When Reptilicus popped up and someone riffed "Photobomb!" I knew that they were going to use contemporary references at the right time without losing some of the obscure, pop culture junkie reference the show always employed.

At the start of the Christmas one they reference Hark, A Vagrant in regards to the open animation.

I know I've said this before, but it's still amazing to me that people will sit on these old-rear end movie rights for whatever reason.

Part of the problem is even knowing who currently owns the rights (which is what held up Pumaman for so long.) Also apparently its been an issue where rights holders have tried to basically extort them for more money since they know it is for a popular TV show.
