Sporting them proceeds to gently caress up acess to the champions league , the president suspends the coach and staff ,only to deny doing so after a couple or hours, a administrative staff is indicted for corruption in handball, alegedly coordinating with the guy who is also in charge of football affairs and about 50 ultras invade the training ground and beat up their coach and star striker.for any other club this would be one of the most shamefull and darkest days in their history.for sporting,it was a tuesday.

Also Bruno de Carvalho was conveniently not present when the attack was done, only showed up after the police arrived, he immediatly did some declarations to television and hosed off before the team was escorted out. This is a national disgrace.

They can if their employer can't garantee basic conditions, including security, to let them do their professional functions. Getting your head split open because a bunch of mean bean machines entered your training room is a clear breach of any and all workplace environment security and proper working conditions. You could sue Pingo Doce for the poo poo that happened here, do you think that these players can't afford good lawyers to defend themselves in a situation where they're legally right? gently caress outta here, you're the reason so many people are cowards when facing lovely working conditions. So now the suposed bussinessman and agent that first whitleblowed the corruption in handball is now claiming that he also tried to corrupt some football players and now 6 sporting games are being investigated. Only referee bribing that I'm aware of In the second league there's a huge match fixing process that's already in the courts, but I have no doubt in my mind match fixing (mostly for betting purposes I'd say) is constant in all professional football leagues in Portugal That and doping

I mean, if we are being fair everyone does it, there no such thing as glass cellings in portuguese football because they've all been shatered. All big clubs do shady poo poo and referee bribing,all small clubs probably do match fixing.except for chaves which is a pure and good club ( they probably did it too). The funny thing is we probably could have kinda nicked this in the bud,or at least discourage this poo poo if apito dourado was taken seriously by everyone, but since most people aparently choose not to,welp.btw, since football is kinda one of the sociological mirrors of society, this kinda poo poo goes on everywhere

The dude that blew the whistle and was running the corruption scheme for Sporting has just admitted to a court that he did, and he attempted to, corrupt adversary players in up to 8 football league matches, and that that he paid handball referees in 10 matches during this season. League that Sporting ended up winning. Meanwhile plenty of people on the board of directors, general assembly, and fiscal council have resigned, and while this weekend's Final is still on, Sporting hasn't done a single training day and the last training day before the match was cancelled too. Though it's really funny that one of the players told the guy to gently caress off as 3000€ was nowhere near enough. Can't win leagues by offering chump change as bribes. It also makes me wonder what Porto and Benfica pay around that players from c-grade teams give the cold shoulder to 3000€.

The average annual salary in the first league is around 200k by this info. The jump in salary from playing in the segunda liga to primeira liga sometimes is around 500% .there are fringe players in the second league earning 1k a month,though usualy the clubs provides room ( i.e. they live in a 3 bedroom apartment with other players,or in a apartment provided by the agent which is usualy getting payed a consultant fee by the player and club), meals and a car . its a poo poo life if youre not in a decent club, but usualy you can build a decent nests egg before starting your normal life at 35,if youre not getting scammed by your agent.then usually you go to a coaching gig, player agency,administrative role in a club or open a small bussiness.the players union kinda sorted their poo poo out a couple of years ago and has been really good in helping players invest their money. Well for benfica try the benfica site. Usually game tickets are on sale around 2 weeks before the game.try sending an e-mail to the adress at the bottom of the page regarding your visit dates and theyll help you out. Meanwhile, the portuguese cup final is done and sporting lost by 2-1 to aves. Plucky aves wins its first portuguese cup,quite a feat for a club with an operating budget of little over 3 million euros, which is less than half what sporting pays its coach every year. I mean,at this point just take sporting round the back and end its sufering.

Desportivo das Aves, which finished in the modest 13th place of the league, won a hard fought 2-1 final against Sporting and won the Taça de Portugal, meaning the plucky Aves will be in Europa League next year. This team has one special member, 42 year old Quim, of former Braga, Benfica and Portuguese national team fame, who made at least three vital saves. Last year he joined Aves and vowed to see Aves on the first league. Not only did Desportivo de Aves come to the first league just last year, they survived and found a place on European competitions for next year. What an incredible effort.

Looks like Aves isn't going to Europe after all as they never registered for it and never got the required licenses with the Portuguese football federation. This means Sporting goes instead. Sucks for the poor guys.

Clubs needs to register with their national federations every season to compete in European Football, and then UEFA gives out the licences. I'm going to imagine that these registrations and licenses cost money, so small clubs that don't have chances don't bother with it until it's too late. Aves tried to registered but after the December deadline, so they can't go. The other club that benefits from this is Rio Ave that was out of the Europa League but now is back in.
