nudity isn't a horny thing in a lot of cultures like it is in the anglosphere but uh- from what I've seen in that thread and hearing about some more uncomfortable parts of Berzerk in the past, in the context of the manga in question and especially its artist, the nudity in a vacuum isn't really the problem. people who are fixating on that as a defense are really ignoring a shitload of more subtle modes of sexualization

Isn't "some ADTRW thread gets defensive/dismissive of naked children or similar gross poo poo" a semi-common event? I remember this happening a while back with some dungeon-delving anime (Made in Abyss?) that had a lot of sketchy content involving child characters.

I was wondering when that thread was gonna boil over into either a saga or a QCS thread. If this gets Duranki booted off the forums, then good. I can't loving believe how many people in that thread jumped at Solice Kirsk, me and others for daring to suggest maybe the child nudity was creepy and unnecessary and possibly not, in fact, a necessary plot point without which the story simply cannot be told

I always forget about QCS. I did report it and the guy got a 6er for not tagging it  . I PM'd the mod more information, but felt like I was gonna wind up getting slapped with a 7 or something so opted to get a post down somewhere before that happened because they banned one of the other posters that was calling it out for posting non-nude adult porn they drew making fun of Berserk after I asked them to take a closer look at what we were discussing. I'm done with it from here and haven't been back since I saw that. I think that comic is using a non-binary protagonist as an excuse to overtly sexualize them, and the fact that they decided to make the character 12 and still find increasingly ridiculous situations to draw close ups of their naked butt taking up the full page is ridiculous. I just figured it should be getting more attention than just like

The sad part is if the manga hadn't immediately gotten worse in the next issue I would've probably just shut up about it for good, instead of actually saying the "actually this is hosed up" part. Even then it was Solice Kirsk who actually brought it up and made me realize that no, this isn't normal and shouldn't be here. It's a part of why I was kind of loud in that thread about it, I was mad at myself for being such a little bitch.

I remember the Sarah Palin supporter forum where it turns out none of the mods had any actual powers because the admin was too paranoid/incompetent to give them any. Also, posting pictures of interracial couples kissing is basically as good as goatse for any remotely conservative audience.

re Duranki, I think a lot of the issue is that the people reading it are Berserk fans for the uninitiated, Berserk is probably one of the nastiest and most disturbing comics ever written and has an almost stupid amount of sexual violence in it. it gets a pretty major pass from most of anime/manga fandom because, well, to be blunt, it's also really loving good. the art is gorgeous, and while the writing occasionally stumbles, it's overall a really good story about the most stubborn and angry motherfucker in all of Not Westeros and his revenge quest against a piece-of-poo poo rapist. Duranki is by the same dude as Berserk and being talked about in the Berserk thread, which naturally means two things: 1) most people reading it have a beyond absurdly high tolerance for hosed up poo poo in their comics because Berserk basically breaks the hosed-up-poo poo scale 2) most people reading it are gonna be way more inclined to try and look past the hosed up poo poo because Kentaro Miura has a known and established habit of telling a really good story under all of that

I have never even opened ADRTW, for obvious reasons, and I recommend this as a lifestyle choice to anyone. e: if you don't stop talking about anime, this is gonna become my space for working out all my storyline issues with the only good anime ever which is named SAILOR MOON and you bet your boots I remember every dumb thing about it in painful detail you have been warned
