So I've just finished playing through the 4 stage demo patch for A Portable, and drat this game is a lot more enjoyable in English, and I like what they did with Lamia's 'accent'. I'm really looking forward to the full release, which should hopefully be in the next year or so considering they've translated 41% of the game (though sadly it's unlikely we'll get a new demo patch that continues beyond the game's intro)

It is a shame the bird and turtle gods are going to be absorbed into Shin Ryukooh, Yuuki & Carla need better personal mechs and the Jakubuoh/Bujakuoh would suit them very well. The Razandgrith is alright but the Randgrith is only endgame playable if you give it secret weapons. Both mechs waste their psychodriver talents too. At least let them ride the other Advance mechs or something, let Carla be a magical girl who fires phoenixes.

Let's see -

Z1: There's something called "dimension energy" that does all kinds of hosed up poo poo. There are twelve Zodiac-themed items of black technology called Spheres that generate lots of it. They're keyed to people, have different powers, and are unlocked by different emotions. Asakim Douwin is trying to collect them all like Highlander Dragonballs. History is a giant time-distorted cycle of identical wars and destruction designed by something called the taiji (the Asian concept of the fundamental cosmic energy) using Paradigm City as a vector and the Big Army as a catalyst. Large spacetime-fuckery events are anchored by people called Singularities and places called Grand Singularities that have the power to fix/rewrite reality when focused together. The Edel Bernal is aware of this and more and is trying to turn the world into a giant war zone to maximize his own personal firepower fun using super-dimensional magic. Quattro "Char Aznable" Bajeena is aware that he is destined to fight Amuro Ray over a colony that he is dropping on Earth, but does not understand when or why.

Z2: Spheres have power levels. The people from Gurren-Lagann, Gundam 00, Dancouga Nova, Mazinger Z, Aquarion, and some other stuff have been trying to either protect humanity from or prepare them for some sort of huge oncoming event called "Ba'al." So have Gaioh, who is a "Dimensional General" who tries to turn the entire planet into his monster army, and Elgan Roddick, who is literally another The Edel but not a dickbag and totally cool (he got shot). Asakim has the Sphere of the Curious Goat and one more, and steals the False Black Sheep and Unending Water-Bearer. All of both ZEUTH (Z) and ZEXIS (Z2) have been made Singularities of something by some unknown intelligence.

Current Sphere count:
Scarred Lion (Land Travis)
Sorrowful Maiden (Setsuko Ohara)
Wavering Scales (Crowe Bruest)
Curious Goat (Asakim Douwin)
False Black Sheep (Asakim Douwin)
Unending Water-Bearer (Asakim Douwin)

Did I miss anything?

I think he's asking about the plot of Z3 in particular.

Normally you'd need to play through the game several times to get the option, but there's a rather good cheat FAQ over on GameFAQs that has the codes you'll need to get the option on your first play through instead.

...if you're so inclined, you can also use cheats to set all the secret flags to on, so you can save Gai and still get Great Zeorymer.

You're thinking of the Minovsky Craft - the Minovsky Drive is a ridiculously upgraded version that lets you go at sanic speeds using 'sails' of light. The Mother Vanguard, for example, could go from Earth to Jupiter in only a few weeks, compared to the months it took for every other ship.

I just try to have it so there's an accel user in as many squads as I can like I did in Z.

Generally you want an accel user in every squad, EN and repair supportbots with EN hogging supers like Getter, Mazinkaiser and GaoGaiGar, and then just the strongest PLA units you can scrounge up. Barrier-users are also fantastic for super squads, Rei being chief among them. You may or may not want to keep Asuka and Shinji together for their combo attack, but you can just as easily shuffle them into the backrow of any unit for AT field goodness. You also want any combination attack partners in the same squad for obvious reasons, though Rei is a potential exception.

Protip: Amuro only needs Kayra in the least valuable MS you have, since the Nu's funnels will violate the poo poo out of anything and everything in the game. Also the Dendrobium is a beautiful thing for the entire early-mid game, and I recommend giving it to someone more capable than Kou, like the Purus.

Conclusion: Nobody talk to the kid and shun him at every turn, until somebody like Shinn speaks up and goes "But that's stupid!" But I guess for that, the fourth movie would have to exist first, so that the third move can have a real endgame to speak of.

Idea: Getter Armageddon and Eva 2.0 have their conclusions at the same time (instead of Zeruel its Shin Getter?). Come the interrogation scene in 3.0, Shinji's about to mentally tell Rei where he is when KNOCK KNOCK ITS GETTER, and Ryouma's here to bust Shinji out since the last time he saw the kid, he was doing something awesome and his current treatment is bullshit.

Said porn was, admittedly, hilarious in a horrifying way, because it was obvious that the CG artist didn't really give a gently caress about what he was drawing. This ultimately resulted in some rather... terrifying anatomy.

The real cosmic horror isn't Cthulhu, it's what's in Kurou's pants.

Regardless, the Demonbane anime is indeed toned down in a lot of ways, many of them bad. Like cutting out Metatron and Sandalphon entirely. Another thing the anime was sadly unable to adapt properly due to its very nature was how wildly things diverge after the first six or so chapters, because there was some truly crazy poo poo like Master Thereon not coming back to life because he kills the Tyrant and Sandalphon taking his place as the pilot of Liber Legis and ultimately final boss, Leica the nun turning out to be a superhero, DOKUTA WEEEESTO building an evil grimoire powered motorcycle, Kurou turning evil because of mind control and Ruri stepping up as Demonbanes pilot, Ruris grandfather turning out to be a time travelling Kurou... There's really a ton of awesome content in the VN that the anime left out.
