True. How about that Nathan Drake, he sure loves him some treasure.

Will he finally learn that the greatest treasure....is family?

I donno, Drake seems much more interested in the hunt for treasure than in having treasure, so comparing that to family would is maybe not the best tactical choice.

Or Drake is that kind of family man which is possible.

From the sounds of it they're not even working Salvage on that one, they're being paid by the original owner to recover it.

Also don't those tanks hold a couple hours worth of air? How'd Drake manage to get critically low scouting a presumably small search area (a trailer truck can only fly so far off a bridge) in a river? Probably hunting for treasures (love the arcade token).

Also IT'S AN AIR TANK NOT AN OXYGEN TANK. One is for first aid the other for breathing under water. This is not difficult people.

I will never get over my annoyance at them never closing the secret loving entrances behind them. Like, at least once, them leaving the doors wide open has lead to the bad guys coming waltzing in after them. If Drake just took a second to close poo poo behind him he could have avoided so much trouble.
And, with all the things you can do in this game, I suppose they haven't added the option to cover your tracks, have they? Because that is the one feature I would want in a game like this.

Given these are ancient mechanisms that are built to stay closed, would you want to risk getting locked in with the treasure and whatever ancient evil protects it?

To put it mildly.

Libertalia seems like a nice enough island, but at her peak, Ching Shih's command was the same size as the modern population of Guam.

She kicked government rear end on all sides until they went "You know what? You can quit! No strings. Just please stop robbing us."

So she did, and she spent the back half of her life running a casino.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ching_Shih

quote:

Ching Shih's code had special rules for female captives. Standard practice was to release women, but J.L. Turner witnessed differently. Usually the pirates made their most beautiful captives their concubines or wives. If a pirate took a wife he had to be faithful to her.[12] The ones deemed unattractive were released and any remaining were ransomed. Pirates that raped female captives were put to death, but if pirates had consensual sex with captives, the pirate was beheaded and the woman he was with had cannonballs attached to her legs and was thrown over the side of the boat.[6][9]:29[12]

seems a mite harsh.

My guess so far is that most pirates weren't really satisfied with the idea of settling down with their large pile of money and start farming. Maybe it worked out for a bit, but before long people got bored and orchestrated a coup so that things could get good and violent again.

I'd be cool with that if that's the direction they went with, both in terms of themes as well as ... they're pirates, it's kind of their thing but let's be honest. This is uncharted, they were defending against pirate zombie vampire robots.

the good news is the more mooks get killed the less she has to spend on payroll.
