For once, I'm LPing a game I actually enjoy! Medal of Honor was released in 2002 by 2015, Inc. Generally considered an outstanding game. Also probably the cause of the knee-jerk hatred of snipers in video games thanks to the mission Sniper's Last Stand. This time around, it will be KittyBurger and Mateo360 as my recurring guests. We may have a few extra guests depending on how bored we are and any other issues. Only Lighting the Torch and Scuttling the U-529 have been recorded (And before you ask, I could not get the Easter Egg to trigger on Scuttling the U-529), as such the update schedule should be weekly, though it entirely depends on my co-commentators schedules. Furloughs are good for something at least. I will also be doing both expansion packs however, I have not actually played either of them all the way through and only vaguely recall playing the Bastogne missions on one of them. As such, I will probably stream my blind runs with open commentator slots from the CTS Mumble. PM or post if you're interested in that trainwreck.

This game features cameos from prior Medal of Honor games and a nod to the original, however Patterson doesn't show up. Off the top of my head, one of the levels we'll see his handiwork in dealing with a Big Bertha howitzer and later we'll be visiting a level he had gone through as well. The person we will be meeting is Manon Batiste, the heroine of Medal of Honor: Underground and a French resistance member. If there are other nods to the prior games, I'll try to keep them in mind.

This game's soundtrack is outstanding, albeit strangely used. It was composed by Michael Giacchino and I will probably be providing links for the songs at some point. (As a note, this guy did the soundtracks for the Incredibles, Ratatoullie, the JJ Abrams Star Trek, a number of the Medal of Honor games, the Call of Duty games. You've definitely heard this guy's work.)

- In this game, we're playing as Lt. Mike Powell, a Ranger and eventual OSS Agent, same as Jimmy. He's supposed to be fluent in German, but unfortunately not all of the German in game is subtitled. A lot of it you can guess, but if anyone wants to fill in some gaps, I'll add it as a note to the videos or even figure out how to add subtitles through youtube. This guy is the touch of death for friendlies.

- Major Jack Grillo, a member of the SAS (Which did actually exist at the time unlike what we were thinking in the first video. Oops) Other than being a fairly easy escort mission, he has the magical power to pull a Willys Jeep from German Territory before an invasion.

The episodes for this LP will generally be split down so we don't have 40 minute trainwrecks this time. Full missions will be uploaded together though, so once we move onto longer missions, you won't have to wait to get to the end.

Mission 1 - Lighting the Torch (Operation Torch) - Lighting the Torch Part 1 Lighting the Torch Part 2]

Part 1 No Commentary Part 2 No Commentary (Note for the No Commentary videos, these are what I upload for commentary recording as such they won't always have everything edited out or balanced. From here out I'll try to do that ahead of time rather than as I'm finalizing it all.)

Mission 2 - Scuttling the U-529 Scuttling the U-529 Part 1 Scuttling the U-529 Part 2

Edit: I'll add the no-commentary versions later.

Awesome stuff, I remember playing the hell out of this back in the day. The D-Day landing level was INTENSE in 2002.

Also, something much more important: You made a mistake! The silenced pistol is a High Standard, not a Hi-Power. Hope you're embarrassed.

Why are these teenagers not at home studying their Latin vocabulary?
The soundtrack is indeed phenomenal, and is one of my favourite works by MG (well, his previous MoH OSTs are even better, but the main theme in this one is still an instant classic). Apart from the main theme, most of the music actually comes from the previous games!

I actually had to google that poo poo since my power's out. My dad and myself have been calling it the Hi Power for goddamn years. Kind of funny.

It's an understandable gaffe. Hi-Powers are pretty dope and were used by commandoes and nazis alike in the war.

It's been a while since I've played this, but isn't Powell a lieutenant pretty much in name only? I'm pretty sure the sergeant bosses you around and makes you assault pillboxes all by yourself in Normandy.

Perhaps a careful review of your options is in order.
This was the first game that really got me into FPS games and multiplayer in general. As for the expansion packs, I remember being disappointed by the single player missions they added, but not caring that much because they sure made multiplayer a lot more fun. If anyone played on any West coast Tug of War map servers around 2003-2004, chances are good that I was there.

Oh, and thanks for making me remember that awful sniper mission that I was very happy to have forgotten about.

I'll be watching this for sure.

Holy poo poo, I didn't forget about this thread, just ran into a string of interesting technical issues. Such as Youtube deciding part 2 of the episode was a copy of my no-commentary video three times in a row. Weirdest drat thing.

Today's episode is The Scuttling of U-529. Once again, join Kittyburger and Mateo as we raid a snowy hellhole and see the game still doing weird things. Also included, my insistence on using the Hi-Standard more than I should, just tanking a magazine of MP40 ammo because gently caress it and a death I missed because I only really remember the last death.

Episode 2 - Part 1 Sorry for the audio balance issues, even running some balance passes, our voices kind of jump around.
Episode 2 - Part 2

In this mission we take on a sub pen, trying to destroy the Naxos prototype and scuttle a submarine fitted with the device. Doing some cursory research, this thing actually existed and was used more by the Luftwaffe. The sub version wasn't water proof and not particularly effective. Still, something you don't usually hear about. Next episode will be coming sooner assuming we don't run into schedule or editing issues again.
