Twitter has now decided to censor the account of the person responsible for the DNC hackDigital Times posted:Twitter temporarily suspended the infamous hacker (or hackers) known as Guccifer 2 on Saturday after a second dump of Democratic party files made it online. Internal reports also suggest, including the suspension of gay, conservative troll Milo Yanniwhatever, and that racist singer lady out of Australia, that twitter devotes a great deal of effort to prevent the harassment of certain public figures. Digital Times posted:An outspoken advocate of the company’s commitment to free speech, it is alleged that Costolo secretly employed an algorithm to block abusive language directed at President Obama during a Q&A session on the platform. The same censorship system was again utilized during a similar online event featuring Caitlyn Jenner. However Twitter apparently devotes no effort, according to a lawsuit that it won this past week, to stopping ISIS from using its platform to recruit, disseminate information, and even broadcast executions. Ars Technica posted:The lawsuit, Fields v. Twitter, claimed that Twitter violated the Anti-Terrorism Act by providing Twitter accounts to the terrorist group. .... The plaintiffs did, however, say that the terrorist in question had been inspired by an execution publicized by ISIS, which crowd-sourced the method of execution on Twitter. The plaintiffs also accused Twitter of failing to “detect and prevent” violent, terroristic tweets on its platform. The lawsuit was dumb, and Twitter should have won. But, Twitter's priorities are pretty clear. Periscope a beheading? cool, we'll spend countless dollars in attorneys fees to defend our right to let you do that. But if you say mean things about someone we like, you're going down!
