I don't even know why it exists.. base 10
doesn't make sense but it's so common and ubiquitous that we have it etc and base 2 and
8 and 16 are good for nerd poo poo so why does base 11 exist? it has no unique special feature that the others do to make it worthwhile and just introduces a whole host of issues

actual human number systems are typically not derived from counting tho

people just use whatever numbers are easiest for math. using base 10 instead of base 11 means you can operate based on hands, whereas 1/2 of 11 is a useless number
