Hillary is right that change needs to be gradHal because the American political climate is one where people freak the gently caress out at the thought of a mixed economy (SOSHALISM!) even though it is both a normal and reasonable thing and also something the US has already been for at least a century. Progressive legislation couldn't even make it through a democrat majority congress because of fear-mongering about the word "socialism"
