extreme mental gymnastics are a lot easier than not gorging myself on enough food to feed a family of four

NomChompsky posted:No, I'm on the side of common sense. Fat people piss you off and that's fine. Not everyone is 100% repulsed on first gaze by them though, and some people do have a fetish for it. People are extremely complicated and you're painting with very broad strokes my dude. bbw fetishes are probably very strongly correlated to mental illness and constitute an infinitesimally small portion of the total porn viewership and are thus irrelevant nobody sane wants to see fat people gently caress

wait lets look at the data: http://sexualitics.github.io/ only 3% of "likes" on xhampster are of videos tagged as BBW from this you could reasonably infer that 97% of the population doesn't like looking at fat people pretty sure that more than 3% of the population is fat so even most fat people dont like looking at fat people

NomChompsky posted:Yeah nobody said most people can or want to find fat people attractive but some people do because people are varied and complex. i went with likes because it removes the possibility that someone viewed that video by mistake there are videos of people guzzling poo poo or getting their dicks smashed with a hammer on the internet so there is probably an audience for that too

sure obesity is correlated with poverty but lmfao if u think u cant be frugal and fit the real problem is being lazy, gluttonous, and wildly irresponsible some of the poorest people on this planet have way longer life expectencies than your average american lardass

you can eat like a complete piece of poo poo and not be fat as long as you stop eating enough to feed three people

Panfilo posted:The other goon that brought that up did it in response to a question I had about how other countries deal with obesity. It wasn't quite answering the question I asked; I meant more how do they deal with it socially. For example, in the US obesity is very common, fat people are an easy target because they are all over the place and it isn't hard for a goon to find a strawman fatty to base their horrible attitudes on. People also compare us to much thinner countries where they don't have as many fat people. to answer your question, no. overprivileged, willfully obtuse, and gluttonous people are not treated with more sympathy and respect in other countries

the only hard rule to weight loss is this: eat fewer calories than you expend other than that just try and use some common sense and don't do poo poo like lose weight by exclusively guzzling bacon drippings

RGBRIOT posted:I was under the impression that when you starve yourself you're basically shooting your metabolism to poo poo? "starvation mode" is a real thing but only happens after about not eating for three or four days. otherwise there is only about 5-8% variation in the majority of humanity's resting metabolic rate. if i was a betting man, i would say your weight gain was very simply the result of eating too much food, as is virtually always the case.

Bum the Sad posted:What is real starvation mode? I haven't researched that. Is it simply like you said where you get less fidgety? there are several stages but initially your body will begin to burn stored fat along with a bit of muscle. after all of your body fat is consumed it will start to burn lean tissue. even so, "starvation mode" only resulted in an 180 kcal reduction to daily metabolic expenditure when studied in a lab
