Doctor Reynolds posted:Darth Maul actually landed on his legs when he fell down the hole, then used his lightsaber to cauterize himself back together. He later runs in to a fallen Jedi by the name of Oz'kahr Piztorius, who tells him robot limbs are superior to those of flesh and blood, which he demonstrates in winning various athletic competitions. Maul follows suit. But it's Anakin that kills his girlfriend in a fit of rage.

Was that even something people said before the prequels, when it was apparent that Lucas was actually terribly bad at writing?

Could be a link back to Rebels or TCW where I think they were almost solid yellow. Were they Gold Squadron in any of the original trilogy?

Old canon had a pretty similar explanation with those shown earlier than Endor being 'R-22 Spearheads'. Both dumb, but I at least kind of like the new explanation better. e: Like both could have had the answer, they just weren't at Yavin or Hoth. I don't really want to but I know that it's something I'm going to have to do. Pretty sure they meant the episodes of TCW that were only partially animated, not the prequels. Also the prequels really are that bad.

Blowing up a star destroyer is one of the most damaging things this band of rebels has actually achieved though? I mean, other than sabotaging a factory, stealing poo poo and broadcasting some rebel propaganda, what have they really accomplished? Wait, I guess they also blew up an interdictor.

Yep, people definitely think this is real and aren't just talking about a fictional universe and the consequences of various actions on the actors within that universe. People are actually convinced it's real. You got us, boy are we foolish.

Yeah it was a mistake leaving Lothal at all. I want a show just about rebels being rebels. The Onderon arc in TCW was great, Empire day was great, whenever they've gone back to Lothal it's been great. I still like the show, but I do wish it were the Jedi loving off, not Sabine.

enraged_camel posted:I wholeheartedly disagree. Star Wars has always been about interplanetary conflict at a galactic scale. Back in Season 1 when they were dicking around in Lothal, their struggle felt futile and utterly meaningless in the grand scheme of things. It was only when they joined forces with Ahsoka that everything started to have impact and purpose. Yeah, so it would have been interesting to see one small part that only tries to be one small part of an interstellar conflict.

True. I think my problems more with the Jedi if anything. I just want a show about Rebels doing rebel things though. You'd still miss Morriban with that, but somewhere along the way regular people have to be shown to be able to do poo poo.

Yeah I really don't see how it's that confusing, but I do think the show could have done a lot more with friction between rebel groups. You get some of it with Saw in both rebels and Rogue One, but nothing bigger than that. Would have been neat to have the alliance be more of a 'United Front' than all groups that are perfectly ideologically homogenous.
