I'd be really impressed if they put the 2100 in from x wing Alliance, along with the Scottish family. Although the ghost looks a lot like the 2100 I think?

I'm guessing when they first modeled him they hadn't added the hair in the movie yet. If you watch the first teaser for R1 he does his scenes without crazy old timer hair.
