You're forgetting George H. W. Bush. He flew active combat missions as a naval aviator on a bomber during WWII, and during one was shot down. He survived; the rest of his crew did not. He won the Distinguished Flying Cross, which I think was like only a couple of steps below the Medal of Honor (could be wrong on that).

Not a fan of his presidency, but he didn't let bone spurs keep him from combat.

He did serve on active duty for a few months (while being a representative from Texas) flew to SWPac, flew on one mission as an observer that turned back early and was given a silver star by MacArthur and then wen't back to DC and argued for more stuff for MacArthur.

Nixon also served in the war, "On October 1, 1943, Nixon was promoted to lieutenant.[42] Nixon commanded the SCAT forward detachments at Vella Lavella, Bougainville, and finally at Nissan Island.[42][47] His unit prepared manifests and flight plans for R4D/C-47 operations and supervised the loading and unloading of the transport aircraft. " which isn't a combat command but was a job that needed doing so I wouldn't dismiss it out of hand.

Edit: Ford was on the USS Monterey for 2 years of the pacific campaign. "From the ship's commissioning on June 17, 1943, until the end of December 1944, Ford served as the assistant navigator, Athletic Officer, and antiaircraft battery officer on board the Monterey. While he was on board, the carrier participated in many actions in the Pacific Theater with the Third and Fifth Fleets in late 1943 and 1944. In 1943, the carrier helped secure Makin Island in the Gilberts, and participated in carrier strikes against Kavieng, Papua New Guinea in 1943. I think whatever reference was being used to indicate that presidents had been in the reserves wasn't complete in indicating if they had also served on active duty.

American citizens are incidentally involved as PART of that process, and that is the ONLY way. They could not open a FISA process on Trump or Popadopoulos. They had to get a foreign entity involved.

If they needed to go directly at Flynn or Carter, for example, they would have had to go down a non-FISA path.

But that is what makes it so terrible-the Left actively, knowingly, with forethought of purpose and deep malice, engaged the levers of power with the FISA process, and used it, not to spy on the Russians that Flynn or Carter were said by them to be hobnobbing with.

They USED the FISA process against the VERY principles it was ostensibly created for. In every single case, the FBI and DOJ SOUGHT OUT AND FOUND PEOPLE IN FOREIGN COUNTRIES AND DESIGNATED THEM AS A THREAT.

Once some stupid, corrupt, or inconsequential Russian oligarch schlub was designated as a threat, they could begin.

Michael Flynn sat next to a Russian woman at a dinner. She could be declared a threat to be monitored, and under FISA, every communication made by Flynn to anyone in the Administration opened up every single person in the entire Trump Administration and beyond to government surveillance and unmasking for mining. Recorded phone conversations. texts, emails, Facebook posts, you name it, EVERYTHING that passed between Flynn and EVERYONE he breathed on (including Trump) then became a "Subject" (again NOT a target) and every single thing that tens or hundreds of thousands of people including Flynn's garbage man (if he ever contacted him) would then be able to be "legally" surveilled.

The key points are that the FISA warrants on US Citizens can ONLY be used if there is a foreigner deemed by the IC as someone to monitor, and the IC pointed their investigative cannon based not on the foreign national, but as a means to point it at an American citizen. In that fashion, the IC monitoring of specific foreign nationals was DELIBERATELY and MALICIOUSLY, and with FULL INTENT engaged in order to enable them to spy on American citizens who communicated with.

Reading your post, I suspect I wrote my post poorly and you misunderstood what I was trying to say. I don't think there is much daylight between you and I on this.

I like Trump but here, like many other Republicans, he is a coward. The question is: is it a child? If the answer is no, then there should be no restrictions. But if yes — and it is yes — then there can be no justification for willfully killing it. A child is not an inconvenience, it is a person.

The real problem, one that no one wants to address, is that abortion is only a means to an end: the denial of the nature of women as the bearers and nurturers of children. Abortion is the result of the desire of some women to be free from that nature and to be allowed to follow selfish lives in imitation of men.

The advent of inexpensive drone swarms is going to change the entire calculation for any nation that is the target. Israel must end the mullahs and any strategic capabilities they possess immediately. It’s all or nothing.
