No it has the highest food value of any state, but Iowa and Nebraska each out produce it in terms of pounds of produce. California by an large doesn't produce the same food as the rest of the country very little wheat, corn, pork, or soybeans. Instead you get weird stats like California producing nearly 100% of American almonds and that accounting for 10%ish of their overall food sales.

Yeah it's California-Iowa-Nebraska-Texas-Kansas

The cleanest possible civil war would be red counties vs blue counties though. In that case California is the one place where an actual Well-Organized Militia of yeehawdists could really gently caress a lot of people by cutting the water supply. Lucky for us they can't organize the occupation of a desert wildlife refuge.

Of course in reality a second civil war would look like Syria, not a clean red vs blue divide, and we'd all be hosed.

This one has been tickling my brain all morning. What does this even look like?

No judicial branch, no legislatures, just Trumpian fiat? MAGA tribunal rule at the local level (replete with patriotism testing and political imprisonment)? The piecemeal nationalization and Trump control of business that he doesn’t like or wants, media corporations but also pretty much anything is fair game? Trump designating his heir and all major decision making is by his family members?

Edit: Also the complete lack of irony with the, “Trump doesn’t really want to annul the constitution, that’s just what they want you to think he said” takes when it’s exactly what he said and the only way he can get the thing he wants is to be appointed president is by discarding the constitution.

Unfortunately, the answer is pretty dull. It doesn't look like anything, because it's not actually a real suggestion. Trump's been stewing over his loss for two years, and he has decided that, actually, he won, and someone should fix that for him. He is so poor at trying to wield power that he just thinks someone should do this for him and... that's it. There's no clear name at the other end of 'someone' and the 'fix' is barely coherent. He's supplied the necessary ideas by saying to melt down all barriers to being acclaimed as the newborn king again. And that's the end of it. He's so intellectually incurious that he can't even supply the basic answer of "okay, so then what?", because to his mind it's obvious that you do stuff he wants and don't do stuff he doesn't want and that's it.

"bigbob (z)" has little further elaboration available to him, but he at least isn't someone who was formerly at the very highest elected office of the US, so it's only silly in his case, not as pathetic.

That was the literal whole story of "Infrastructure Week".

He just kept saying he wanted a big infrastructure bill, and then sat there getting mad that no such bill effortlessly materialized on his desk, so he'd say it again, and again, until it became a huge running joke.

When you're the CEO of your own company, you just express your wishes and your underlings scramble to make it happen. Passing major congressional legislation doesn't work that way.

Lol remember when he sent Bannon to strong-arm Congressional Republicans into backing one of his policies (I think it was the Muslim ban, doesn't really matter), and he blustered and acted like they were all employees who needed to cower before the boss, only for them to basically tell him to go gently caress himself sideways?

My favorite example was from when they were trying to repeal Obamacare, and Trump spent all of his time meeting with Freedom Caucus types (who were already 110% onboard with gutting the ACA) and not actually trying to work the handful of Republican holdouts (McCain, etc.) or see if there were any Democrats he could bring onboard. He far preferred to sit with a roomful of people who kissed his rear end and told him how great he was to actually going out and trying to corral those last votes he needed.

That said, he has bounced back from seemingly crippling things before. The Pub's just lost hard, so they're going to be eating their own for a bit. Schumer is just as happy with 50 as with 51 Senators. The Democrats still control the Senate with VP Harris. If needed, as with the homosexual "marriage" bill, they can peel off enough RINOs like Murkowski and Romney to get their way. The filibuster rule for Federal court nominees is gone, so they can fill the vacancies with the usual "well qualified" leftists.
Having Warnock win is a shot across the bow of the MAGA movement. It is meant to demoralize the Trump wing of the party. The emphasis on having Democrats (or cooperative Republicans like Kemp) holding the governorships of the six states that were disputed in 2020, as well as holding the Senate, even with the mentally disabled Fetterman and the slimy Kelly, was important. They were willing to concede the House, but by an eight or nine vote margin, rather than the 25 or better many expected. The Uniparty can count on McCarthy to quash any serious investigation into the Biden crime family, FBI and DOJ corruption, etc. Both McCarthy and McConnell were present in today's ceremony for the Capital Police, so we know what side they are on.

A major tactical goal was to block Trump in particular and conservatives in general. A secondary goal was demoralization. The Uniparty succeeded in all its goals.

Either the GOP/Conservative wing figures it out and adapts or they get left in the dust.

Screaming about playing by the rules is great but when the other side doesn’t give a singular poo poo about playing by the rules, you end up out of power and completely out of the running - which is where we’re at now.

You know, if you assume Democrats = voters (a fair assumption given this person's likely other views) and replace some of the words with more neutral synonyms ("concede the House to the Democrats" and "vote Democrats into the house" are the same action from different emotional perspectives), this is a very accurate post.

Wallace here has basically made their conspiracy theory perfectly parallel to reality to the point that they'd be indistinguishable from a neutral perspective.

This is the crowd that yells "DIVERSITY HIRE" every time a POC makes more money than them, doubly so if it's a field that allows them to state facts that contradict their opinions, so yeah, that's why he thinks Warnock is a phony pastor.

This is most likely as legit as an FBI raid on MAGA DVEs who were planning a MAGA revolt. I guess the German government proves it’s NAZI chops by their support for the Nazification of the Ukes.

This will make the ‘24 Senate race very interesting. If the Democrats do not put up a candidate against her, the the GOP needs to find a shill to run as a Democrat. Split the vote and we get a Republican. Senator Lake??? Senator Kirk?

That’s what pisses me off about the whole Trump “muh fraud” debacle. He had a chance to get a viable third party off the ground and force something of a parliamentary system on the legislature. But Rudy or whoever had his ear convinced him he was robbed. The opportunity that was squandered will never come again.

You may have something there. Check out Pelosi. Significant cleavage and she ruled the House for a long time.

The Twitter Files is predictably reinforcing their persecution complexes, but it's a weaksauce 15 post count thread lmao.
Twitter — and Democrats — lied, lied and lied again about censorship
Not Republicans or Elon Musk though! They have never lied ever and 100% are not trying to censor things they don't like

This is exactly why Musk should have released the Twitter Files through Hurley to provide the necessary CONTEXT. Taibbi falls short and Barium Wipes is a Leftist.

If you actually read the #TwitterFiles, which no one here has done but me, one particular infuriation stands out: the people hired as censors -- Paul Conlon from DoD, for instance -- didn't know poo poo about election laws.

So Jack gave an ignorant State actor corporate control -- that's fascism, a particularly dangerous kind of know-nothing fascism.

Question I have regarding the Trump tweet about "mail-in ballots being suspecible to fraud" which was internally flagged by the Deep State (FBI, DNI) to Twitter for potential censoring.......

Folks -- why didn't the DNI or FBI just pick up the phone, and call Trump! Simply ask POTUS - who at that time was our Chief Executive - and ask him directly for his source for that particular tweet?

Just shows the Deep State is guilty of treason - these people need to be immediately arrested!

Quite a leap from "new CEO leaks internal documents on how social media company moderated content" to "social media companies must be legally liable for taking any action against anyone identifying as conservative" to "disband the entire government except for the parts that I specifically like".

quote:

To: Oldeconomybuyer
I can’t help but think about the liability that Musk has opened Twitter to. It is obvious that Twitter and its employees acted as agents of the state to trample on citizens’ first amendment rights. The government, Twitter and individual employees should be held liable. I am unsure if the change to private ownership eliminates the company’s liability. It seems somewhat unfair to me, but an example must be made. Twitter is not the only company involved in the same scheme. Alphabet (Google) in it’s suppression of conservative emails, and Google’s YouTube division with banning conservative content is guilty too. Meta (Facebook) is liable as well for the same reasons. Meta includes Instagram. The precedence needs to be set first with Twitter so that these other companies maybe pursued.

There should be an investigation into all of Big Tech. That includes Microsoft and Apple. All of Big Tech is ripe for break up. Point at hand, Microsoft was seeking approval for the purchase of Activision this week. It’s ONLY as $69 Billion deal. That’s outrageous and out of control. I compare that to my first job in Tech back in the 1980’s. It was with the world’s largest manufacturer of electronics connectors; a $5 Billion, Fortune 150 company. That’s a huge difference from tech today.

The Twitter Files also makes it apparent that the Federal government is ripe for a breakup. That however is different than Big Tech. It means large portions of government need to be shuttered. That includes the FBI, DHS and vast portions on the intel agencies under the DNI. They all participated in censoring Americans. They no longer defend American freedoms. They destroy American freedoms. Individuals that participated in censorship need to serve long prison sentences.

Only these actions will begin to restore trust in government and business.

The pattern is simple.
1- They do something.
2- we point out that they are doing something
3- The accuse us of doing the something they did
4- media carries their water
5- We defend ourselves
6- We provide evidence that the democrats did it
7- we get called conspiracy nutcases
8- after about 3-6 months, the media accidentally acknowledges the democrats did it.
9- the media calls it old news
10- democrats say, “so what if we did, what are you going to do about it”.

Lather, rinse, repeat.

The generally accepted view is that the First Amendment solely applies to speech limited, modified or canceled by the government and not by nongovernmental organizations. Therefore free speech manipulated or banned on their platform, while repugnant and self-serving, is not unconstitutional. But what is unconstitutional and is not getting as much pushback as Twitter itself is agencies and factions of the US government calling Twitter’s attention to speech which they want banned by like minded Twitter bosses. This is unconstitutional and punishable.
