However:
1) He did go to the Tulsa rally, maskless
2) There have been a large number of cases stemming from that rally
3) He was hospitalized ~2 weeks after the rally (in line with the incubation period)

So it's fair to say that his lack of personal protective practices almost certainly led to his contracting the virus, and he had ample chance of doing so at the rally. So even if he didn't get it there, his following the Trumpian "this is nbd, masks are for losers" line did him in.

As for the HCQ being withheld, I read that less as "Trump hanging him out to dry" and more "EVIL LIBERAL DOCTORS murdered him by not using the magic cure!"

That's a really good point--same topic, but vastly different tonal positions.
