I had a discussion on this board about what would be the fallout from Kaepernick’s actions, followed by others in the NFL. I mentioned that it was not the proper way to do this and that it fostered actions beyond it that would harm the youth of this country.
NFL playuers, especially high lite players, whether they are or not, already have the power of the press and could approach any news faction or politician in the US and get an ear to speak their piece. Instead he crawls on the backs of those that gave their all for him to make the ridiculous amount of money he is not worth.
He furthermore is saying he is going to donate $1M of profits from his jersey sales to race inequality and police brutality. Yeah, he’s paid $19M dollars base salary, so he’s going to donate money from a sideline sale that he duped the public into buying because of what he did in the faces of real heroes. Well they must agree, otherwise they would be separating themselves from the issue. Look at how many companies and organizations are breaking away from North Carolina because they want men permitted in women's restrooms, and North Carolina wants to protect the women.

If they hold him for the psych evals, then you have to worry that the doctors will declare that he’s crazy (which he probably is....with his particular religion). I think whoever this judge is....if the guy walks away....is toast and will have to resign from his position.
However, I will point out....there’s not a single death from his act. Maybe some wounded folks....but no deaths. So other than attempted murder, there’s only a limited list of charges.
But it will be curious what happens once he gets to state prison. I doubt if he makes it more than two months before someone makes an attempt on him.

That's a problem. I don't care what cops consider "hinky" - as long as I do nothing to threaten an officer of the law, I expect to be treated fairly and with respect, not shot dead for no good reason. I'll wait until all the facts are in before passing judgment, but from what I've seen of the video so far, the man who was shot did not behave in a threatening fashion.

The guy is a danger because he is a black man. He had no weapon. He did not do anything to suggest he was mad or wanted to hurt her. She had three backups around her.

And even when I do not do exactly what he says. Or I argue with him. But then again, I have been stopped several times and I have never had a gun pointed at me. I am white so cops treat me better.

I don’t watch NFL or NBA. I don’t begrudge anyone watching or not watching them. My game is MLB, but I know every MLB front office is just as liberal loving as the other two big pro sports. The only difference is MLB players can self police themselves as far as jerky celebration dances and chest slapping displays over routine plays.
And the culture of the players maybe. NFL and NBA have a lot more US blacks playing in them. If most of the players want to protest, and they have a union, it’s a hard decision for ownership I guess if the players want to push it that far. It is a business.

There is a precedent for this. Back in 2000, her and Rick Lazio were holding a debate for the US Senate race in NY. Lazio went after her (to me justifiably) but Hillary spun it as Lazio was being demeaning and aggressive to her.
And trust me, if Hillary doesn’t say it or infer it, the MSM will. The double standard suck a great deal - but it is one that Trump will have to deal with.

She did this with an earlier debate. Anderson Cooper asked her a surprisingly tough question and the audience laughed nervously. Hillary went immediately into a prepared answer, unhumanlike.

In general that would work, if the questions asked applied to both candidates. For example, if the moderator asks Trump why he says misogynistic things about women cows like Rosie O'Donnell, he can't ask Hillary what she thinks about it. Hmm...naturally the calculation is not only whether Trump can do better in upcoming debates, but whether Hillary can do worse. Given how much time and effort this took off her already moribund campaign I'd guess that the juice is worth the squeeze, but that's just a guess.
In a genuine debate there would be no ad hominems allowed, and only topic allowed would be stated at the start. These "debates" are, of course, nothing of the sort. They may be useful as platforms of comparison, but nobody can be declared a loser who finishes. So the decision to participate must be on criteria other than reason-based. I'm of the opinion that Trump stands to gain more, and Hillary to lose more, by participating. Just my $0.02.

Another indicator, is when news articles or videos allow comments, the comments are enormously in favor of Trump. The last election, such comments generally favored obama, maybe 55-60% favoring obama, and the balance favoring Romney.

With Hillary bringing up the pageant woman in the last debate and the nonstop chatter about it since then, he didn’t need an excuse to bring up Bill’s rapes (though this certainly does reinforced his justification).
Someone clearly sat on it, but why not release in on the Monday or Tuesday after the debate where Trump can’t publicly respond and attack Bill in front of millions and the media can pillory him over and over? Maybe that was the plan but wiki forced them to blow up the timing.
I do think the Clintons on some levels think that brining up Bill’s past will backfire for Trump. They have the media to spin it as just “allegations” while you have Trump on tape speaking cruedely. Most people will be altogether disgusted with both of them and be a net positive for Clinton. I think they’re probably wrong about that depending upon how well Trump prosecutes the case on Sunday.

If I thought the GOP was a party that uses tactics instead of feeble formulas to win elections, I would consider that this was a move on the GOP’s part to allow a prominent politician to campaign for House and Senate candidates that might have a shot in “blue” districts and states.

Even if Donald Trump loses this election (and it will be mostly the Republican establishments doing if he does) the GOP is never going to be the same, ever. These guys are dinosaurs they just don't know it yet. I can't say for sure what is going to happen, but I can say what is not going to happen. The days of Dole/McCain/Romney like candidates are over. Trump has flushed out the rats and I must say until Trump came along a lot of us truly thought the GOP was on our side (weak kneed as they were). It turns out we were duped, I mean seriously duped.
I'm not sure the GOP party survives if Trump loses. I honestly hope a Trump party is formed if Trump loses, whether he is the candidate or not. Whatever party forms will be a party that understands the country is lost if they don't win, it's a must win, and even if Hillary wins in 2016 my guess is Trump, if he's still interested, will win in a landslide in 2020 because four years of Hillary would wake up a lot of the left that still has a brain.
It's not over for America, but it is over the GOP as we knew it ...

A far-left Supreme Court will uphold any EO from Hillary and strike down any GOP legislation at any level it doesn't like.

So as I mentioned earlier, the reason I didn't post yesterday is because I was too goddamn out of my mind after what Trump pulled. If you're reading this post after November 9, 2016, could you do the thread a favor and quote just this first line? Memories are good, especially when they're so goddamn bad.
As a refresher, or if you are reading this years from now for some reason (goddamn you must hate yourself a lot) within I think an hour of the second debate between Trump and Clinton, Trump called the press into his green room to get them to take shots of "debate prep." What the press was met with wasn't debate prep, it was Trump flanked by Kathleen Wiley, Juanita Broaddrick, Kathy Shelton, and Paula Jones.
Most Americans of age will remember Paula Jones. She showed up in a gray baseball cap and a hoodie.
At the age of twelve, Kathy Shelton was raped. Hillary Clinton served as defense council for her accused rapist. Hillary successfully defended him. She has since then been accused at laughing at managing to win the case.
Juanita Broaddrick accused Bill Clinton of raping her in the late '70s. At one point she gave a deposition that no sexual contact occurred.
Kathleen Wiley accused Bill Clinton of groping her in the Oval Office. During the Ken Starr investigation, Linda Tripp testified that it was consensual and that she'd been flirting. The allegations were not investigated.
They spoke with prepared statements to the press, and then the press was escorted out. Hours earlier, the Trump staff left for the debate without the press, with an excuse of having to change the schedule.
Nobody saw this specific set of actions coming. Trump had been telegraphing for weeks that he was going to bring up Bill's previous indiscretions. There was near universal agreement that this was a really bad idea. Regardless, the campaign got their little press stunt up on Facebook, and that's where the MSM broke it.
They were seated in the general audience at the debate. It was later revealed that the Trump campaign wanted them seated in the family box. This would have meant that they would have walked out and met with Bill and Chelsea. The debate staff refused to allow this. It is not clear how, if at all, it impacted Hillary. Her theme for the night was "when they go low, you go high," and she generally deflected or ignored anything Trump said (including the four ladies) while otherwise trying to act like a serious candidate. Many were hoping for a decapitation shot instead of just letting him continue stepping on landmines. Oh well.
That night, it was reported that the Trump campaign is infuriated by the seating and they've threatened to not do the third debate. It was also reported that Trump would fly on the plane with the press corps for the first time ever, returning from the debate. Once everyone was seated, preparations were made for him to board... and then he did not and the door was closed.
The Trump campaign is currently in gently caress THE WORLD mode. They're angry and are hitting everywhere that they can - the GOPe, the RINOs, and especially the media.
But let's go back to those moments when they pulled the stunt. I want to know, for some sick reason, what freep thought as it was happening. Of interest, their live thread has 3000 replies. Ours has 4500.

It's telling just how crazy this election is that I can't completely dismiss the theory that the pussygate tape was released by someone in the GOP as some harebrained scheme to sabotage their own candidate so they could justify cutting Trump loose.

Go on twitter, click the magnifying glass and you will get a list of what is trending, ( or what twitter is allowing to trend).
