Industrial Expansion, Davy Crockett, Molecular Manipulation, Launch with Three. We need to send a message to these thrice-damned ursinoids, and taking out four of their vessels with three of ours will be loud and clear. They're threatening our people, and must be driven off at the earliest opportunity. The Human Republic will always extend an open hand, but if we are forsaken, we must close it into a fist swiftly and deter such foolishness. We are peaceful in intent, but we are not doormats.

My fellow citizens of the Republic, we must not forget who we are and what we stand for. Is violence and brutality the only way? Must we ape the ursinoids, monkey see, monkey do, monkey rule by force? No. Are we not Humans? Are we not better than brute beasts who use violence as the easy answer? We must strive for the harder path, the better path. Let us not impose an empire. Let us, once we have slapped these violent opportunists back down to their planet, extend the open hand of peace once more, not in conquest but in rejection of conquering, theirs and ours. Make no mistake, Humanity will be pre-eminent in the galaxy. But we will not need to resort to the crude and barbaric overthrow of entire species to do it. Brains, not brawn. Subtlety, not subjugation. By all means, be vigilant, overtly and covertly. Shape things with a careful hand if required. But let our overriding, overarching message be that we can coexist!

We're better than them. We beat them in space, they came cap in hand and humble. There is no benefit to be had from throwing away any more sentient lives. Friendly provided they stay quiescent. Should they test us again, it is clear they would be in need of a more thorough adjustment. Trade with them. Gather Data so we remain alert. Advanced Engineering is our next step. Sunrise will do, and when we colonise Segel, name it Hephaestus.

Crazycryodude posted:AJ as much as I appreciate your attempt to make us both happy, TYW and KTT have fundamentally different design philosophies, and mixing their designs would mean a less effective fleet overall. Mixing a neutron cannon escort with a mass driver cruiser or vice versa means mixing effective ranges, either splitting the fleet for max damage (so the escorts are no longer near the cruisers, obviously bad) or not being able to fully utilize one class or the other. Since when has armament procurement been sensible or reasonable? Vote stands.

Electromagnetic Refraction with a contingency for advanced government. 240 Million or even more, but Postpone it. Take the high ground over Bulra, broadcast propaganda feeds of the systematic destruction of the entire rest of their empire whilst the bulk of their army lies fallow beneath our guns. They hosed with us. Generations from now, I want legends of why that's a bad idea passed down to every last stinking bear cub so they can regale each and every other species we encounter. Blockade Bulra then destroy everything else they ever worked for beyond their home system. Korga.. Cold desert world? Gobi. Ease off. the back of the bear has been broken. Tyrannus Prime, henceforth known as Rex University first. Military scouts - The first time the Bears attacked us, they murdered our unarmed scouts. Never again.

Ground Weapons.. Humans and the liberated, or as I like to think of them Dancing Bulra need technological superiority to roust the enemy. Physics because science is the path to victory. Bulra Last. I have long been a proponent of this strategy. We are patient, and we are thorough. Systematically liberate all Imperial exclaves and integrate them. Raise the Dancing Bulra children to be loyal, and open up recruitment into our armed forces as a prosperous career path for them. Wipe out the Imperial menace by liberating Bulra with its own sons and daughters in the vanguard. Unlike the vile Imperials, we do not act in shadow to murder innocents and cripple worlds. We are open, we are absolutely clear, and we will not forget what they did to us, and continue to try to do. This is the price of their crimes, the eradication of their entire so-called empire, and their disgusted descendants purging their regime in our name and on our behalf. Yea on transports. Scouting, for the Imperials are not the sum total of what is out there.

Devil take the Hindmost. Lend our support to the Mrrshan and the Meklar, establish good relations with the Psilons but make contact with the Alkari an absolute priority. We need a better sense of the politics of the far quadrant before committing too much. Slow and steady secures the galaxy. We do not compromise on continued colonial development, nor on necessary security measures. I accede to Senator Davis' proposals for the Paradise Warehouse and increased Spaceport production. Aye on a new Scout Frigate to replace losses. Star charts are a priority, particularly concerning the Alkari and Darlok polities.

Hmm. It is still a priority to make contact with the Alkari, but we must accept realpolitik situations. Hold off for now and see how things develop on the Klackon-Mrrshan front. Continue to favour the Mrrshan, refrain from a full commitment. Building up to that commitment is now a priority, in accordance with the Bauer Doctrine.
