Nweis, have you thought about having the early updates tke up more turns? It's just that, well, late game 20 turns can fit in a lot of stuff but right now the updates feel a bit sparse.

Hey Nweis, you have a tendency to turn your empires into Libertarian Utopias in which Money makes everyone a good person. It's not bad, but it's kinda weird seeing the same gimick in several games. Ever thought of doing something different? Maximum Communism for Good?[Wasn't there an LP of SMAC which tried to play as Yang as a GOOD version of supercommunism?] Or Super Space-Hitler? Hell, even a flawed capitalist society would be interesting.

I propose that, if we do indeed lose, we start a new game as the Terran Empire as a direct sequel of this, since this started so soon after getting warp tech you could just start up a terran empire game as post-warp and say we are the survivors from earth, forced to flee, and we become Space Mongols.

Yo Nwes, I'd like to request some lore regarding the integration of the human/Bulra populations. What's it like? Are there Bulras adopting human cuisine or dress? Humans growing long and luscious beards to fit in? Are there entertainment companies that try to make TV shows that appeal to both species? Do the bulrass like videogames? Hell, by now it's been a few years of occupation, and considering human...proclivities [Humans will gently caress anything and DON'T you tell me otherwise, there is too much weird porn on the internet to say otherwise], there must be some kind of "Arrangements" around, what do they have to deal with?

I've had an old DSL connection for a long, long time. My budget for things has been fairly limited, which has made the times I've had to shell out some money for the LP hobby sting a little, but I found a cost-effective way to switch to cable, and had it installed yesterday. So very much appreciating the improvement.

Buddy if you think DSL is bad, I have SATELLITE internet, I can barely download poo poo at 120 kb/s. I don't dare format my computer because my MMOs alone would take me weeks to download.

And since the big radio tower every staellite internet around here connects to isn't the best quality, have enough households use their internet at the same time and we end up with speeds that make dial-up look fast.

That is to say, even if I wanted to LP something, I'm hosed.

"The religion of the Alkari and their 'Sky Gods', combined with the presence of Orion Confederation artifacts on Alkar, is suggestive when compared against the known archaeological evidence surrounding the genesis of the modern Psilon species. The Alkari gods are described in terms consistent with the morphology of Orion remains on Eson, and the accounts of divine beings descending from the skies to call forth Alkari to battle in a timeframe contemporaneous with the genesis of the Psilon species seems to be very strong evidence that the Orion Confederation was in a state of war shortly before its evacuation of Eson. Akari capabilities in visualising and calculating three-dimensional movement intuitively in flight situations makes them excellent pilots and gunners in the modern era, and even primitive Alkari trained to qualification on specific equipment with other crew on a ship to handle more technically demanding tasks could prove a significant asset in a state of war.

When we compare the Orions' actions in engineering cranial growth in a species that could support the expanded skull capacity, even beyond the safe limits of biology, we see a possible pattern of the Confederation making use of client species in specialised roles, either by creating or finding clients that could serve effectively. Note also Orion datastores describing uplift of the Ibbari (now believed to be extinct) as an effective industrial labor force once educated into a modern society.

What political data we have extracted from Confederation sources suggests that a rival monospecies empire occupied a significant arc of the galactic rim, with an empire centered around the star Antares, although astrographic data provided matches no catalogued star in the modern era. I propose that the leadership of the Confederation sought to cultivate and uplift clients precisely because this would grant it an astropolitical advantage over the less flexible rival represented by the Antaran Empire."

- The Confederation Before Its Fall: A Survey by Academic Soro Dev, a FPQ researcher

"The Ibbari, as described in such datastores that were recovered, were a species with a genetic predisposition towards high patience and focus, good manual dexterity, and a neurology uniquely well-suited for integration with mechanical augmentations. In the Orion Confederation, they were used as workers in tasks that required extended precise attention to detail with little loss of focus."

- A history textbook for children on Eson

While I see this as morally questionable, I will say that, if we could uplift dogs so they would serve as trackers and detectives, we would without a single thought.

Okay, I gotta know, what was humanity's reaction to the first inter-species marriage? It's been, what, over a century since we first met the Bulrathi? And a couple of decades since we met the rest of the galaxy? It must have happened by now. [I also assume that there's been a not insiignificant immigration, sure, WE may not see other species' pop points in our planets until we conquer them but by now we must have a virtual pop point of misc. aliens in our empire]

I'm mostly asking because, well, humanity hasn't reacted well to miscegenation in the past, and I imagine it may be more extreme when the other part isn't even human.

Of course, maybe SPAAAAACE humanity is more socially evolved, what do I know.

You know, you ssy that the Meklar don't quite understand romance, which is ripe for one of those star trek-like "what is this thing you call love" scenarios.

Question 2: what has been our highest biological scientific breakthrough? Psychic powers? No wait we got those in a trade right? I'm asking because I imagine that somewhere at the top.of the bio-science tree there must be a breakthrough that may potentially end up with species being able to hybridize, at least RP-wise. Since other species' biological breakthroughs (such as psychic powers) can be traded to any other species I mean, that seems really specific.

Question 3: what is the average human's views on the converted Bulrathi?

Siegkrow

I suppose there must be a part of humanity that mistrusts the psilons.

Let me explain myself.
You see how the psilons are suspiciously similar to our depiction of "the grays", which popularly aren't seen as the kindest of aliens, what with the abducting and cow mutilating and anal probing. Is there any explanation for that? Maybe some rogue psilons?

Also, have depictions of the grays and Japanese catgirls become racist caricatures?

How about giving the narrative turn to a different kinda game?
jRPGs are always fun when you give a voice to the silent protag.

Edit:
I know it is kinds of weird to give such advice but I got a few writer friends and one of the things they've told me is that writing the same kinda stories over and over sometimes drains the write-juices, and tackling a different kinda beast can recharge them
