Considering how much of a monumental idiot Farage is I consider this to be a good development. It certainly doesn't indicate Trump is looking for a nuanced or more articulate performance.

Like Farage spent his entire career trying to force the UK to leave the EU. Promised up a storm. As soon as it did, he immediately went and started talks with Russia about working for RT, which is 100% part of the Russian government. For all the laughs we had about Manafort working for papa Putin and coming by to try and get Trump a win, it seems mighty odd shortly afterwards we had another person that's suspected of working for Putin trying to weasel his way into Trump's campaign to "help" him.

I have to wonder what Donald Trump being found in an actual Playboy video will do to the Evangelical side of things. It's one of their bigly sins, porn, and it's about as shocking to them as eating babies. The answer, as always, is nothing, while the actual methodist person of faith gets slandered, I know. But I have to wonder if it'll get traction.

So what are examples of "twofer" states where Clinton campaign efforts both help her win a swing state and also help a close Senate race? -North Carolina -Nevada -New Hampshire -PA -?Possibly Florida? Unfortunately the Ohio Senate race doesn't look competitive, nor does the Presidential race in Indiana.

I'm sure this won't make the "Trump is a Putin toady" talk even worse good pick for a coach, Trump

Most insane conspiracy theory I have heard all year. The woman who was on stage debating Trump was not even Hillary at all. It was another body double. I felt sick reading that. It's the stupidest opinion I could possibly imagine. An actress who can convince millions of people to be a well known public figure for several hours while also memorizing countless political facts, keeping her calm around Donnie and baiting him so much, would be by far the most competent person alive. I absolutely lost all political respect from the person who told me that. Like I can't even argue anything anymore. If he is so far down the hole, nothing I could ever say to him would make the slightest dent into his convictions. I've read countless political articles and tweets and sometimes even their comment sections. But the stupidest conspiracy came from a personal friend. He's not even an uneducated blue collar worker. We recently got out college degrees. I kind of hate him now.

To him, the mic was the only problem, and Trump has done exactly zero soul searching or real practice as a result. So expect more chaos dunking by Abuela next week.

Lightning Knight posted:Lmao oh yeah, "boycott sex against your liberal wives," as if your wife would want to sleep with you after pulling a stunt like that. Story time. I have some old Southern anecdotes about just this thing. Back in the day when polling was still relatively new everyone's phones were land lines and were probably the only one in the house. The couple is off for the day and maybe about to have dinner. The phone rings. She picks it up. He asks who it is. It's a pollster. So in Southern states the important polls weren't the elections, they were the primaries. These states were almost always one party states and so who you chose at the primary was important because the party you voted for was right leaning or you threw your vote away. So the lady of the house begins to answer the questions, but when it comes down to who she voted for she would lie in order to keep the house domestically tranquil. He was voting for X, she wanted to vote for Y but said she was voting for X. The husband is happy and the polls weren't reliable because of married women. It's possible you may see a repeat of that here. A weak one to be sure, but a lot of these poor white houses are male lead. Figuring out that your wife is going to vote Hillary could make your Trump voting husband fly off the handle. Anyway, this isn't about "adjusting the polls" because I doubt it'll be over half a percent for women or maybe so small as not to be measured, but some women do lie about who they're voting for in order to keep the peace around the house rather than debate their husbands.

Hillary's Body Double for President, 2016. There's something hilariously ironic about the idea that when the Russians finally found success undermining liberal democracy and funding subversive, extremist political groups in Western countries to promote dangerous ideals, it's as a fascist autocracy spreading white supremacy, misogyny, and homophobia, instead of a communist power spreading socialism.

The thing to remember about Farage is he tried to play 4th dimensional chess and get Brexit close to winning but still have it fail so he could run on being denied in the future. The second it actually won he was basically the dog that caught the car and had to resign and run for the hills, like most pro-Brexit politicians.

Farage's main schtick as a demagogue has always been 'man of the people who dares speak truth to the out of touch elites'. Trump's been hammering on that same theme in all his rallies this past week - Wall Street, big money, globalists, and the media are all part of the same cabal that rigs the system against ordinary Americans, and only an uncorrupted man of the people like me can defeat them. It would make sense to have Farage come and coach him on refining the message, given that he 'won' Brexit. Don't think it ever got much play in the US, but it came out a few years ago that even in high school Farage was considered a horrible little fascist 'who marched through a quiet Sussex village very late at night singing Hitler Youth songs', so he can probably give helpful tips on how to code white supremacy messages too.

Zwabu posted:So what are examples of "twofer" states where Clinton campaign efforts both help her win a swing state and also help a close Senate race? Related to this I've seen a few people Arzying that the Clinton campaign is pulling out of Ohio and focusing on Florida and NC instead. Given that Ohio seems to be a demographical uphill battle and the Senate race looks like a lost cause, it makes far more sense to focus on Florida with its juicy 29 EV and minority population, and both have winnable Senate races. Ohio is not going to put her over 270, it's going to be a nice bonus prize like Florida was in 2012. In general terms having an election strategy that relies on swinging a set of states that are demographically close to each other is risky because you are basically putting all your eggs in one basket. VA and CO are where Clinton has the advantage by way of educated whites; NC by way of the black vote; and FL by way of the minority vote in general. Going full hog on Ohio means you are toast if the white vote shifts. Endorph posted:On the other hand, that guy is acknowledging that women like and enjoy sex. It's a Christian wife's duty to have sex with the husband and the husband is preventing her from doing her duty this way, forcing her to be unchristian.
