I really want Oliver Stone to make a movie about Trump like he did with Bush. Just dramatizations of the behind the scenes shenanigans and meltdowns, what was going on with that 90 minute delay and why he had to rush off stage, that kind of thing, except instead of like W, where Bush was still humanized and his attempts to be the person he clearly wasn't due to his own inferiority complex and pressures from his family, this would almost come across as a horror film. I do not want to be the intern who gets stuck with telling Trump any sort of bad news.

Yeah people might give Bill poo poo for implementing Don't Ask Don't Tell but it was a step up from outright barring the Gays from working in the government (including military), which was around since Eisenhower was in office.

I know some of you are saying I'm a troll but if there is a real chance the alarmism about Trump is genuine, I will absolutely make sure to vote for Clinton. My word may not be much but I mean it. As a Transgender Gay myself, yes. Yes you do. Adding to what Artificer is saying, progressivism isn't a straight line. It never has been, and lots of people like, for example, Hillary Rodham Cllinton, have been working their asses off to make sure that it stays on track, and she's been doing that literally as long as she's been in politics. She has been involved and on that track longer than I have been alive and putting her in office is the better option than putting the Orange Goblin Man in, period.

I've heard a few people around my age mention that as a reason they aren't voting for her, but they're also manchildren who complain about the evils of feminism so it's not like I'm surprised. Not that I know of, but video games are also considered more "mainstream" than back in the day, so she probably doesn't really care. So the answer to your question is bobjr posted:they're also manchildren who complain about the evils of feminism so it's not like I'm surprised.

It did solidify my (mostly) positive opinion of his presidency, though, which is good because I was surrounded by kids who were parroting what their parents were saying and made fun of me for getting stuck with ~Clinton~. edit: wait gently caress, I was in 4th grade, not 6th.

Periodiko posted:They are the most important demographic politically, they're overwhelmingly the most populous and diverse in the United States. They're a solid majority of people, so while it's interesting and worth talking about, disapproval of Clinton driven by white people is still broad disapproval. It's not a "sham", it's a statistical reality. You didn't read the article then. The other main thrust of it was that Hillary was solidly popular until she began running for president, which the Republicans tried to nip in the bud in 2013 with the Benghazi "scandal", while Trump has always been consistently unpopular. Plus, it's not representative of her being "totally unpopular with everyone" if she's only unpopular with white people, which SHOULD be common sense but apparently isn't.

Periodiko posted:Who is saying she's "totally unpopular with everyone". I don't think anyone has ever claimed she was unpopular with black voters, for example. The meme itself is saying that, though? Like not specifically saying she's unpopular with black voters, but the whole false equivalency of being "just as bad" as the Cheeto Elemental is implying that she's unpopular across the board, which she isn't.

When that tweet said "we have an oppo that's worse", did they mean morally worse or worse for the campaign?
