Luneth will be my first break since he makes all the other RM4 grinds way easier. (You get the RM4 once a character hits 99)

For MC3s they will hand out 1 blank one in most events and occasionally special events give some (Upcoming Gold Fes will have 1 in the casino for example). This means you can expect 3-4 per month, but each month or so another wave of characters gets triple broken, so it will be a looooooooong time before everyone is maxed out. Luneth is a safe first MC3, since all RM4s are acquired once a character hits 99 automatically, so getting a super +xp RM makes getting all future RMs easier.

U++ was an absolute joke of a fight, even with my crummy mage synergy. The only change from this ss was I equipped the acc from the U fight on red for more fire resistance. One damage medal loss due to his scripted attacks. Most of his magic pierces res so shellga isn't needed, but magic breakdown + full break is essential (preferably the dances since breaks miss when core is closed). Mages have it far far easier.

bilperkins2 posted:What's the next good FFX banner? I did some accounting and besides I/II/III, X is the only realm where I don't have an SSB or BSB. I'm ok on synergy because I have Tidus's Slice & Dice and Spiral Cut swords, but those SB's are underwhelming now so looking to spend on the next good FFX banner. Tidus OSB banner next month is really strong. Besides the obvious OSB, it also features Yuna's really solid SSB2 medica, Wakka's BSB which is basically a Faris clone, and some other really nice stuff.

Grizzled Patriarch posted:Got a dupe Overture, Hawkeye, and Kaiser Shield. The shield seems pretty good (is it basically Full Break? I can't tell from the description), not sure if Hawkeye is anything special but I guess having an 8-strike Holy attack will be nice against bosses that are weak to it. Seems like it could also be handy to stick on a ranged fighter in the back row, but the game keeps giving me stuff for a front-row physical team so that isn't too useful at the moment. Got plenty of 5-star swords already so I guess I'll combine the Overtures. Kaiser Shield is an attack/magic break, which is superior to full break because it means it stacks with full break and normal breakdowns. Also the shield is +lightning damage. It was one of best SBs in the game when it first debut and is still really solid today.

Chain-agas are better, but Flare is still a top tier option for when a boss resists elements, or just useful as a filler ability in general. Meteor is less useful, but is always handy for daily farming or vs AOE bosses on a non-summoner.

Alright, I beat Melti CM with 0 SBs (but I had decent synergy). I brought a mixed mage team with R3 Bahamut/R4 Alex on Eiko, R3 Chain Firaga/R1 Meltdown on Kuja, and SC + Magic Lure (I have R4 SC, if R3 do Banishing instead of Magic Lure) on Steiner. Quina had breakdowns and Garnet had healer stuff, both with shared medica rods. Phase 1: Throw everything at one of the Clowns. I spent all 3 Bahamuts, 3 Chain Firagas, and a bunch of SC in this phase. Once the first clown is down, slow down a bit so you can get the perfect setup into phase 2. Heal up and rebuff before killing the clown. Make sure that Quina has full break queued up before you enter phase 2, as you won't get two turns before Melti unleashes the hurt. Phase 2: Throw everything you have at Melti. He is really squishy, but if you let him get a bio off you will probably die. His first turn is a scripted aoe poison and his second is a scripted res ignoring Ultimate Meteor that hits for a decent chunk (which is why you wanted Quina precasting with a breakdown before entering this phase). Preferably you will have Garnet charging a shared medica shot before he casts his meteor. Your goal is to get him to 50% before his third turn, cause if you don't he will use Bio and wreck your day. At 50% he uses a scripted aoe sap followed by another Ultimate Meteor. Again, you want to kill him before he gets a third action off. 1 Meltdown + 1 Chain Firaga + 2 Alex + 2 SC is enough to take out 50% of his hp. I brought Sheep for my setup, but you can probably pull it off with a Hope or Vivi BSB for the extra damage potential. KnoxZone fucked around with this message at 03:06 on Oct 17, 2016 |

IcePhoenix posted:Can someone explain to me how they're getting like 30k damage with Maria's BSB commands on the U+? I'm barely even cracking 10k. The command increases in hits (and damage) based on Maria's magic. So to most effectively use it you want at least 1 magic buff (sheep, faith, etc), plus devotion. Once you enter burst mode you use her buff command 2. With all four of those buffs combined you use command one and.... This happens. (Well ok, this also benefits from the fact that I RD'd Maria for the +12% black magic and equipped her with the gaia gear from Tyro 2 for the +earth). You absolutely need a dark res acc on your squishy healers for the U+ CM. I forgot to equip my party with them and the scripted Maser Eye hit Penelo for 5500 damage through protect/breaks. I still managed to win, but it ended up being with Ashe as the sole survivor. For the U++, Daedalus has a stop that will last for almost 20 seconds. It can absolutely wreck your party, but there is one thing that can be done about it: If you stop your own stopped party member, it overwrites. So that 110 mind Celes stop will overwrite that 900 mind stop and lasts a couple seconds at most. KnoxZone fucked around with this message at 03:15 on Oct 31, 2016 |

Swift Bolt is the easiest way of dealing with the U IMO, especially if you can't mitigate the damage without wall. A 3* ability with a fast cast time that hits for like 6-8k aoe? Yes please. Two ninjas isn't the worst idea either, as we should be fighting Omega again in a few weeks, so having two Swift Bolts will be handy there.

W.T. Fits posted:Makes me sad that I've pretty much given up on the U+ for this current event. Even with decent synergy and soul breaks, I just don't feel like I have to hones to go the distance, and it doesn't help that I don't have the durations of some of these defensive effects memorized, so they end up lapsing and someone dies. Or everyone gets hit with Slowga and then get torn apart at the boss's leisure since I have no native Hastega and bringing a RW Hastega means forgoing SG/Stoneskin. And I don't have the patience to Hit and Run to build up Soul Break charges (doesn't help that one time I tried this, the boss still managed to get off a spell that left my healer near dead before I fled the fight). Next event is an X event featuring Tidus's OSB, which is convenient since the U, U+, and U++ are all weak to water. Just RW his OSB and watch as like 3/4 of the health bar vanishes instantly.

Onion BSB is actually superior for an all physical/magical team when compared to Shout/Sheep since OK actually has really amazing burst commands to go alongside the entry buff (COM1: 4 hit physical attack with powerchain effect. COM:2 4 hit magical attack with a powerchain effect.) The BSB is pretty stupidly powerful.

NGDBSS posted:I wonder how tricky this fight is if Omega isn't being stoplocked, since it was a bear in the original due to a 100% chance of counterattacks upon damage instead of 7-10% based on certain commands. At least this time you're given a lot more hints about how to dismantle Omega, since FF5 gave zero indication of its weakness to stop in the game itself. (Nowadays the Internet and datamining serve to provide such assistance.) Honestly, I found the no stop run easier than a stop party since I wasn't relying on landing the turn 1 stop. Cloud Goggles on your support, load up on magic and swift bolt, auto-reflect RM on someone, and just plink away. His only dangerous attack is Wave Cannon.
