rear end Creed 2 is a good game

I agree with the wasted potential thing tho it's a great game concept, cool settings, good idea letting you run wack-a-gently caress over historical cities, but the sci-fi gobbledygook and the chore missions are terrible

The game starts with Evie's brother becoming the damsel in distress (it would have been really easy for them to switch those roles) that you have to rescue. You get an all-women gang to help you. Minigames include: kidnapping men that attack women and shaming them in front of crowds for extra points (seriously), destroying men-only fight clubs, escorting wimpering men to safety because they're afraid of being lynched, liquidating brothels etc. The list goes on and on. As the name of the expansion suggests the final boss is Jack the Ripper who is pretty much the epitome of hatred towards women. So yeah, while they don't spell it out it's all pretty easy to read. I think the only reason why there's not much outrage about it in certain parts of the internet is because it's just an expansion and not well-known.

I feel like the Black Flag DLC thing was similarly much more interesting than the base game. Didn't AC3 have one where you play in an alternate history where George Washington declared himself king of America?

It's like they're taking all the good story ideas that should be in their games and putting them in the DLC bc they don't want to alienate the Ubisoft Customer or something

The expansion is standalone so you don't have to buy anything else. It's still an AC game though so if you don't enjoy the series it won't change your mind or anything.

Even better. I've never played an AssCreed game and can't say I'm too thrilled by what I hear of the plots, so a fifteen buck shorter experience sounds more fun than something long and collectible-focused.

I mean I enjoy collecting things in games, but as a thing to do while playing, not the point of the game itself. That killed Destroy all Humans and Okami for me once I decided to try 100%-ing them.

Yeah, the DLC for Unity was also good compared to the main game and they let you shoot those freaky guillotine-guns. It's as if they let their writers go nuts only for the expansions because they don't risk much or something and yeah, they should have been doing that for the main games instead.

Just finished Doom 2016. It was fine.

By around the halfway point i'd seen all the game has to offer and by the last third i just wanted it to be over. There's only so many times you can go from monster arena to monster arena fighting 5-10 minute battles in each before it becomes tedious.

Add to that the fact that it did the same "person on headset tells you to go a place to push a button to make more story happen" poo poo that every other action game in the past 10 years has done and i don't see where people were getting the whole HOLY poo poo OLDSKOOL111!!!111! thing from.

Whatever, it wasn't bad or anything but i'm glad i paid less than €20 for it and i would have been even happier had i paid less than €10 or got it on PS+ or something.

That's also kind of how I felt about it, but maybe a bit more mildly. I'm glad I got it for 40 instead of 60 because, though the newly added Arcade Mode adds an incredible amount of replay value, initially there was really not much reason to play the game more than once. The last level-ish was kind of a slog for me.

A lot of people genuinely feel they need story to get engaged in games, even if it's only the most barebones story. I've seen it complained about for platformers.

Other than a few brief moments, the story is absolutely miserable, as is the optional lore wiki you can fill up. But the game shines in spite of that due to its atmosphere and gameplay. It's old-school because it's a shooter that doesn't move at a snail's pace or rely on cover mechanics.

AC1 has lots of issues but out of the series its the most focused on just being a game about assassinating dudes.

The rest of the series has turned into basically "Uncharted but in different time periods" or any other generic action/adventure with linear storytelling.

I really want a game like AC1 but better, something like the Hitman games but on a bigger scale.

Assassin's Creed 2 lost me within like the first 10 minutes when it turned into a generic revenge story and the first guy you killed basically goes "what, do you expect good writing? gently caress off" as he dies. Then you spend 500 years going to map markers.

Cacodemons are monstrous psionic demons driven by the desire to feed. They display limited intelligence, but are so often sent into the fray as their natural size and abilities make them an intimidating weapon for the demon-horde.

UAC REPORT FILE: 01152007
When a Cacodemon senses the presence of the living, it will hunt them relentlessly until it gets close enough to gnaw on them using an impressive set of mandibles. To aid the hunt, the Cacodemon has a psychoactive narcotic bile which it spews at range. On contact, this bile inhibits the perception of the target and compromises movement. The effects wear off after a few moments, which is often enough time for the lumbering beast to get within bite range

A few games have also added Steam keys to the bundle, as someone who bought it with the assumption that since the store pages of games say you get a steam key for buying them and was subsequently disappointed when they didn't I hope that more developers follow suite.
