If Tetlltale Batman has drones, why doesn't he just make the drones do all the work. Have them take pictures of the crimes and drop off the evidence at the precinct. Hostage situation? Drones drop tear gas and tase the bad guys.

I know the answer is that that'd be boring for the audience, but Telltale are the ones who gave him stupid drones in the first place.

LawfulWaffle posted:

Michonne's story is interesting only because it gives you a character who is given options to be brutal. TWDs2 was flawed for a lot of reasons, a chief among them was making the playable character one with a lot of restrictions and not a lot of agency. They're all virtual misery porn simulators, but at least when you are playing as Michonne you can pay the misery back some.

On a whole, the Telltale Walking Dead series hit it's high note on S01E02, with a very special mention going to the end of S01. Mostly it's just "the illusion of safety is gain, the illusion of safety is lost, man is the real monster, repeat".

The first game was good because it felt like Lee was actually making choices as part of a group instead of being rammed headfirst into a situation where he has no power, no information and no reason to care about any of the sides involved, which is what Season 2 was all about. You had goals, options to consider, things to lose. Season 2 and Michonne so far feel like someone burst into your house, points a gun at you and is like "WHAT COLOR SKITTLES DO YOU LIKE BEST?" and if you pick green you're gonna spend the next 5 episodes being yelled at over it.

Plus there's no post-apocalypse trope I am more sick of than the militarized group with a deranged leader who does horrible things in the name of "what's necessary", so being forced to interact with that boring bullshit two games in a row is just barf-inducing.

How do you think Captain America would feel about the Dakota Access Pipeline?

Back before Quesada took over as editor in chief, Captain America comics regularly addressed current political issues and took unpopular stances on them as well if the writer felt it was right. Quesada was convinced appealing to horrible right wingers would boost comic sales so he repeatedly nixed that kinda thing, and Marvel Studios took an even broader approach to things, essentially stripping the character of anything more political than "Nazis are bad."

Through simple happenstance, over the years my circle of close American friends has become mostly made up of people who are the most at risk due to the results of this election. Lots of trans women, gay people of low income, non-whites, etc. It's kind of narcissistic of me to make the election about me when it's them that it will affect, but I'm genuinely terrified for all of them. I know there aren't going to be work camps or anything ridiculous like that, but they're suddenly going to feel unsafe and unwelcome in their own country, and maybe even feel like they need to hide who they really are until some of this "blows over". These are scary and uncertain times, and I really don't think the people trying to minimize the significance of what's going on understand that there's no system in place to keep things from getting worse and worse and worse. The effects of the supreme court appointments alone are going to be felt for decades. But it's so much more than "Oh the republicans won again, here we go " This isn't like any previous election, and what the results say about the climate in America scare me to the core.

Anyway here's a video I found funny because of how stupid it is.
