since the app comes along with a promotional poster of some sort for every movie (you know the thing that's in the header of the movie's page and that you can display in your reviews and profile as patron), I have spent weeks trying to find the weirdest or funniest scene there is, left unsatisfied so far. The like button is such nice addition, often enough I'm like, this is a good movie, but it's just not my cup of tea, I'm not interested in the theme or don't like the writing or whatever but I can appreciate the quality anyways. Four stars and no like? That's it then! Just like the thread title says, sometimes you just have to hate something while still admiring the art

Some of the best movies I've ever watched got rated with 1/2 stars by me because they are absolute steaming piles of crap by any subjective and objective definition, but I liked them so much that I gave them my heart and I enjoy watching them Sometimes you gotta watch bad movies to know what's good and sometimes you really like those bad movies, which does not make them good but fun

I'm working on a list of movies in which people eat badly. Like, the tomato scene in lord of the rings, the squid scene in oldboy that wasn't even acting but real and also despite the actor being vegetarian and similar terrible food situations. Looking for input on this important matter Yeah I know of the terrible peach scene in both the handmaiden as well as call me by your name, peaches have gone through a lot

AFAIK Letterboxd just uses the imdb database so whatever people or bots add there, ends up in Letterboxd as well. Until they get removed, as I believe none of them are wanted up there.

Working on a beard list, please name movies where any character, no matter the sex or role, have notable mustaches or similar powerful beards. They don't need to be mentioned or be of any importance, the presence of a powerful beard is enough to be notable. Remember that scene in Django unchained where the colonel sanders style white slave owner touches the twisted curls of his white, racist mustache? That's what I mean, a beard to be aware of.

I mean it's fitting given that in the movie they make a joke against Letterboxd and its users, so it makes sense they'd pay them to add that. Makes me wonder how common and well known this site is among movie producers. Since many people in the industry got there due to being movie nerds themselves, I can imagine a lot.

It's not too old yet either, is it? Maybe it'll be a bigger thing at some point, although I'm not even sure if that's such a good thing. I really enjoy the community we have there currently, before I joined I assumed it was like Facebook but for movies, but I really enjoy reading funny reviews and comments. Many parts of it feel very... Goony. I like that.
