I'd love to get in on the Goon Letterboxd Database if possible. I'm at https://letterboxd.com/DusterBuster/.

Shrecknet posted:I did a thing. Fun idea! Here's a few other contenders: -You've matched The Host (2006, Bong Joon-ho) with Host (2020, terrible Zoom horror movie). There's a more exact match, The Host, (2013, YA adaptation starring starring Saorise Ronan, https://letterboxd.com/film/the-host-2013/). I don't know if you're trying to keep these as just 2 movies for each title, but The Host (2013) has the exact title and came out closer in time. Obviously Bong Joon-Ho is the good one. -The Innocents (1961, haunted house classic, https://letterboxd.com/film/the-innocents/) shares it's name with a lot of titles, but surprisingly it has the same number of views on Letterboxd as The Innocents (2021, Norwegian film, https://letterboxd.com/film/the-innocents-2021/). They're both good. -Jack Frost (1998, Michael Keaton turns into a snowman, https://letterboxd.com/film/jack-frost/) was preceded by one year by Jack Frost (1997, serial killer snowman, https://letterboxd.com/film/jack-frost-1997/). Obviously the horror one is the good one. -Finally, did The Thing (1982, John Carpenter classic, https://letterboxd.com/film/the-thing/) begat Things (1989, bad movie hall of famer, https://letterboxd.com/film/things/ )? Probably not, but I couldn't resist.

Martman posted:Still assuming the ! is ok, there's Mother! (2017) vs. The Mother (2023), an action movie with J Lo. Guessing the first is way better but it's pretty controversial. Don't forget Bong Joon-ho's Mother. https://letterboxd.com/film/mother-2009/

I honestly wish I could just automatically block anyone who's ever posted a list of thousands of movies.

There needs to be a separate site, or at the very least a way to filter to see only films. The non-film things they include are completely arbitrary anyway. You'll get random seasons of TV shows inexpicably included, and you can be drat sure some psychopath has made an entry for every 20-minute behind the scenes featurette from a LaserDisc release.

Philthy posted:So I just found out about Letterboxd and it's p cool. I dumped my horror insanity into it. I don't see any real benefits for the pro/patron levels that stick out. Is it mostly just to pat them on the back for making such a slick site? Doesn't look like they have groups yet? Followed, love me some horror insanity. As to subscribing, I was just looking over it when someone else asked, and my conclusion was the Pro level gets you most of the really practical features, Patron has some cool stuff too, but it's a lot more cosmetic and/or the tier if you really like the site and want to throw a few extra bucks their way. Also followed, you've got a really nice set-up here with some features I haven't seen used much, I clearly have more poking around to do.

I only started using the diary feature at the beginning of March, but I came in at 160 films for 13.3/month and 3.1/week. That may be a little inflated because it does include the May/October horror challenge months when I go hard, but is probably about right.

I'm more baffled by how the hell you could scrounge up 10 entries for Herk Harvey.
