ME2 is far from perfect I felt like the collectors came outta nowhere and I would have preferred more reaper stuff to set everything up for ME3. The terminator baby was shiiiiiiit Collecting the team and the suicide mission was cool and good though, but at the end of ME2 it felt like you had just been on a side adventure because the great big looming doomsday fuckery of the reapers you learned of in ME1 is still there at the end of ME2 with not much having changed

A huge missed opportunity was not getting to have a conversation battle with Harbinger. They tease him in ME2 as he takes control of the bugfolk, but then he's basically just silent in ME3 and dies offscreen or something I dunno

Despite all its flaws the Mass Effect series is one of my favourite gaming series out there and ME4 is a guaranteed purchase for me They'd have to just colossally gently caress this up to make me lose interest

Yeah I had no recollection of Cerberus from ME1 by the time I played ME2. Were they even a big thing in ME1? Even now all I remember of them there are a few generic quests to stop some random experiments or wahtever

Maybe I couldn't get on the hate bandwagon because I personally thought DA1 was a super flawed game as well disclaimer: I did play as sarcastic femhawke and it was good. It was the closest I got to playing a completely disinterested rear end in a top hat in a Hero rpg who just makes fun of the grimdark villain all the time. Yeah I was kind of hoping a Qunari teammember with the name "iron bull" would be cooler, perhaps something like Wrex in Mass Effect. But I can't even remember anything about him, he was so generic and dull I liked the mute qunari mage you get to escort in DA2 better
