I think there is also an aspect of having a single person receive non-stop 24/7 media saturation for over a year possibly affecting a block of voters in the country. I imagine those with middling to low education who spend a lot of time soaking up TV or talking about TV with their peers could be swayed somewhat by that alone.

Are there any real metrics on that? I do know that by the end of the primaries it was remarkable just how much Trump was being discussed on nearly every type of media I could come across, news or not.

Make America Great Again by fracking red states in half! I remember 4-5 years ago on D&D there was a huge debate about the safety of fracking, and I thought the anti-frackers were nuts. The industry/science said it was safe! Turns out I was wrong. Anyway, glad to see evidence doesn't sway Texas, though I'm sad that Oklahoma is putting voluntary regulations to slow down fracking. I hope with the new Trump presidency, fracking can go unregulated.
