I didn't vote for Trump, but deep down I can't help wanting him to win, and I figured out why: It will make a lot of people realize they made a mistake of epic proportions, and learn from it. Humans are only capable of learning from historical mistakes made from the recent past.

Trump has horrible ideals, but if Clinton became president it would be boring, and you'd still have all those racist Trump folks hanging around, becoming ever more racist and powerful for the next election, instead of being forced to change for the better once the world makes them realize what horrid things they've caused if Trump became president. The thing about learning from your mistakes is that it takes some introspection and having the state of mind that lets you think about yourself as a failable human being. People who unironically vote for Trump because they think he's a good idea are more like animals in that they are not self aware. They will not learn from their mistakes because they can't use introspection. It's ALWAYS someone else's fault for things going wrong. No amount of gently caress ups will teach them, they exist solely for themselves and let their ego drive the bus. The only thing we can do is damage control and try to put out the fires they light.
