An Indiana mother confessed to the despicable act of repeatedly injecting fecal matter into her son’s IV lines while he was receiving cancer treatment. Tiffany Alberts, 41, is facing seven felony charges — six counts of aggravated battery and one count of neglect of a dependent resulting in serious bodily injury — for grossly interfering in her boy’s medical care, WLFI reported. An investigation was launched earlier this month after Alberts’ 15-year-old son began suffering from a series of inexplicable infections while undergoing treatment for his leukemia. Doctors told the news station their biggest worry is that they may have missed their best opportunity to conquer the boy’s leukemia while dealing with complications stemming from the infections. According to court documents obtained by WLFI, staff at the Wolcott hospital witnessed Alberts on several occasions inject an unknown substance into her son’s IV bag after video surveillance was placed in the boy’s room. And following a series of blood cultures, doctors were able to confirm to authorities the tests came back positive for organisms that are usually found in fecal matter. In her first round of questioning with law enforcement officers, Alberts denied any foul play. She told police she only added water to her son’s IV to “flush the line” because the “medicine that was given to him burned,” according to court documents. The mother eventually confessed to injecting stool into her son’s lines, citing her desire to get her boy moved to another unit with better treatment options as her cause. Hospital staff told WLFI the 15-year-old’s health improved once his mother was barred from his room. Doctors also said the boy could have easily died of septic shock on more than one occasion, adding he’s not quite out of the woods yet — he may still die from his leukemia after the long delay in his treatments and therapy.

The saddest thing about this is that her antics may have doomed her kid to death. The time the doctors had to waste treating his infections may have made them miss the window for treating the leukemia. Some people just shouldn't be allowed to raise kids.
