Anyone who thinks it's going to be anyone except Wehrlein or Ocon is having a laugh.

Riso posted:Ocon already has a FI seat. Wehrlein is the only homegrown option left and Toto has a hard-on for him. I'm sure Merc can do a deal with Force India if they prefer Ocon for the main team to Wehrlein. Wehrlein is the safe bet to try to get an actual German WDC in a Merc.

learnincurve posted:Hang on, what about Not-Max? I'd pick him over whiirline and Red Bull must know they don't have a seat in the main team for him for at least 2 years, and while he's under contract they can make him pay them all his wages over £1 million. Do you mean Sainz? The problem Red Bull have is their Junior program is running a little dry. They can switch out Kvyat for Gasly easy enough, but beyond that... wikipedia suggests "Niko Kari" who definitely doesn't have enough points to qualify for a superlicense under the new system

The Brackley team's aero department are hardly slouches. Yes they have have had an engine advantage, but Williams, Force India and Manor have that same engine this season and weren't anywhere close.

Now that means They're definitely going to buy out Alonso's contract??

Bottas could surprise, but even if he doesn't he's proven he's a reliable Nick Heidfeld "puts the car where it should be" driver. As Rosberg proved this year, all you have to do is reliably get more or less the results the car can get and you can beat Lewis Hamilton if he's melting down.

I've said it before, but it bears repeating: quick fire qualifying is great, but when the tracks have to charge so much for weekend tickets to claw back the money Bernie demands, the punters want to see more brum brums on Saturday than 22 cars doing one or two flying laps each

Ain't no average Joes dropping 5 large on a paddock pass to sit and listen to Kimi do a monosyllabic Q&A or Checo barely string a coherent sentence together. And this is the exact problem. Bernie's idea of getting sponsors is giving the sponsors a nice experience to pay for 20 times a year rather than developing a product with an enthusiastic audience for the sponsors to actually advertise to.
