Why are there sOh My God. Please be nando. Will be Pascal whirrline and he will have a number 2 driver clause so Toto won't have to deal with any no team orders bullshit but we can dream.

Oh I can think of a fair few drivers who would drive for almost free to be in that Mercedes. Vettel included. Lewis has traditionally not done well the first year after a big change owing to his not being arsed to do simulator work, a WDC and the price you can demand from sponsors and the like goes though the roof.

Hang on, what about Not-Max? I'd pick him over whiirline and Red Bull must know they don't have a seat in the main team for him for at least 2 years, and while he's under contract they can make him pay them all his wages over £1 million.

That may be more of a reflection on Nico's abilities than Lewis'. 2015 when he had really got to grips with the car he owned him and then in 2016 when they changed the suspension and he would/could not adapt his driving style he didn't do so well.

Ultimately Senna won that battle though: Few years ago McLaren did a "which McLaren driver are you" quiz, Brundle got Senna, and rather snappily pointed out on twitter that he was a former McLaren driver himself.

I have the oddest feeling it is going to be not-max you know. Horner has been banging on about Pierre Gasly coming in to the next available seat again today. Which would be good because we need someone new to hate on, and whiirline in interviews has always come across as quite likeable and funny.

We hate Lewis because he's a man child who comes across as a complete tit on instagram (I blame Ron Dennis), not because of the colour of his skin. He's not even the only mixed race driver on the grid, this year there were three and we couldn't have given less of a poo poo about the other two unless they were annoying Seb by refusing to get out of the way of blue flags.

Someone in a white and grey office with lots of tasteful minimalist furniture will also be asking the question "What if Lewis quits in 2018?" Whiirline inexperienced and a liability when it comes to team orders, and they are going to need at least one person with experience in car set up because Lewis sure as poo poo isn't going to put in any of that boring simulator time. The only sensible option is Carlos Sainz, the added bonus for the worst thread for this choice is that if Mercedes are dominant again we will get to watch Max Verstappen repeatedly finishing behind the team mate who was able to match him while showing greater maturity, but didn't get promoted to red bull because the press was concentrating so hard on Max. Also it will make Seb unbelievably loving miserable when he spends the year finishing fifth behind Ricciado.

Pat Symonds, is getting really old, Frank isn't around much any more, and Clare is more of a media/sponsor/lots of meetings type. If you had already designed the ultimate unbeatable F1 car, and wanted to be way more involved with running the team and making the decisions then Williams is a good pick.

It's really not just about the position of her knee, her ankle is also bad. It could have been done because Williams wanted something on the car shopped out and her leg suffered rather than the other way round. Not gonna fib, have watched the F1 on my phone. It's a problem with advertising to the mainstream. In all fairness in the UK all the sky sports channels in fairly decent quality and pay as you go is £30 a month, which is good value for money, as you can have two devices/people using it at the same time and sharing the cost. How many people know about this or even want to watch the F1? I would argue that F1's main competition is the WWE with a dash of reality TV thrown in, and that in order to grow it must improve the broadcast quality and include more real life stories so people can get invested in it. I've said before that having a MTV reality show following a pit crew around would bring in a huge audience of young people, and as it's separate from the actual race show it can be easily avoided by adults. Biggest issue with f1 for me is Crofty is an even more unlikeable heel Michael Cole, only we never get to see the pay off where people beat the poo poo out of him with a table. It's like there is no one regulating the Sky F1 broadcasts and the people who are supposed to don't actually listen to the god awful commentary. Sky own the rights, not the company who film the broadcasts, someone needs to step in and go "OK Brundle can stay in the crazy old man who sometimes comes out with good one liners role. Ted, you keep doing your thing where you explain nerd stuff so people can understand it. The rest of you talentless freeloaders can gently caress off."

Commentary: Brundle as colour commentator, Coulthard in the second seat. Plus bring in a third who is rotated (no actual reason there only needs to be two) Ant, Jenson, Bruno and Karun. May be other ex-drivers with personality who could be added, have them do an audition with Boring Mc Dougle and if they are better than him then give them a FP live test. You know, like actual professionals would do.

Murray was always extremely biased towards the British drivers, if you didn't like Mansell or Hill, and we didn't in our house, he was unbearable at the time. If Murray were commentating on modern F1 he would have been yammering on about what Jollyon was up to every time Lewis was not on screen.
