Hold on aren't we all forgetting that Quantum of Solace is the worst because of getting shafted by a writer's strike? It's sub Die Another Day. Living Daylights is pretty cool, though. And at least Live and Let Die has the sweet boat chase.

Die Another Day is somewhat coherent. Still stupid as hell but much more comprehensible then Quantum.

Wait why was Spectre poo poo? I never got around to seeing it because I am the only person on Earth who doesn't really like Daniel Craig all that much and didn't like Casino Royale '07. (The book was waaaaay better).

Ugh Blofield as jealous foster brother to Bond? Lame. Did they go full stupid and have Blofield secretly cause the climbing accident that killed Bond's parents too since I guess Spectre was mostly about personal and petty revenge on Blofield's part? To be honest, as much as I love goofy as poo poo spy movies, I don't think Daniel Craig is quite the right guy to pull one off especially since they set up the last three he was in as super serious full of themselves dramas. I'd be better off watching a Derek Flint movie or almost any other 60s eurospy trash, parody or not. And I agree that Moonraker the book would be great if they took that one and put it on film mostly straight. The villain's motivation would still have to be rewritten a bit though.

We go from Bond-as-rookie through Bond-as-burned-out-washed-up-cynic to Bond-has-had-enough-of-this-poo poo-and-is-walking-away, and there's really nothing more that can be done with the Craig version of 007 other than have another reboot and start over. I always wondered why they suddenly felt the need to reboot the franchise/character after 40 years and do this sort of character development. Is there more to it then the Bond producers chasing after current movie trends again? (Avengers!, multiple films!, Overarching plot!)

Not that I want to add to the dog pile but even when there's Living Daylights? Also where did you get a copy of that one with the original title? Also I really like that Atari avatar, video games are good!

Nope the car crush was Goldfinger. You Only Live Twice was faking death, turning Japanese, drop of poison down a string, volcano lair, and Blofield reveal. edit: you know I forgot about that car magnet thing until it was mentioned above. So much crazy crap happened in that movie.

Isn't that because Octopussy is kinda... well... bad? There are definitely better Moore films but few are worse than it.

General Gogol was in like half the films and I only remember him in Spy who Loved Me (because he was significant to the plot) and his random token appearance in Living Daylights. Definetly don't remember much about Octopussy, though the clown suit just came back into my mind. bleah. edit: Oh wait Gogol was in near the end of FYEO too, "now no one has the ATAC" etc. It's coming back slowly. I'm pretty sure the actor for Gogol was in ill health and died shortly after his Daylights cameo hence that change. It's a bitch when your characters out live your actors.

TWINE is an okay film overall and unless you have a specific hate for Denise Richards, she's largely forgettable, especially since Electra's way more interesting. It could just be most of the thread hasn't it seen since 1999 or so and forgot the awful bits like the ending pun. Things I can't forget? That poor girl getting ripped apart by dogs in Moonraker. Yeesh.

Don't get your hopes up too high as it's mostly implied (it's the 70s can't have too much gore and violence in a bond film yet) but it's a little chilling the way the camera pans up as the dogs catch up and pounce on her while the church bells start tolling in the background. A yup I have seen MST3K'd Operation Kid Brother. It's slightly above average for a 1960s spy film it's put together pretty well. No worse than real spoofs like Derek Flint and thankfully not incomprehensible like Castle of Fu Manchu or Modesty Blaise. Though I prefer the riffs of Danger Death Day so that take my top spot for the spy movies done by MST3K. Operation Kid Brother does have the best I can't believe it's not Bond opening theme song though.

Oh man would a proper Modesty Blaise film be great, but I'd be a little afraid that if they did one now we'd wind up with some sort of gritty realistic Jason Bourne super serious action film with spies in it. Even Bond himself has had all of the humor drained out, though I suppose you can't really reproduce the carefree feel of a 60s eurospy trash film nowadays. The Man from U.N.C.L.E. remake tried something like this and it was okayish: it still got kinda dark in a couple places and real mean spirited near the end with the villain's death.
