Payndz posted:I didn't particularly like Skyfall, but I thought it was interesting in that it portrayed Bond as a man who utterly failed at every task he was assigned and was reduced to an emotionally broken husk, yet still 'won' by being alive when the series reset button got hit at the end. Die Another Day was also the most financially successful Bond film. I don't recall whether Casino Royale beat it but I think it stood until Skyfall?

Lobok posted:You're thinking of when Tiger's woman calls in a helicopter to fly in with a huge magnet to pick up the car following them and drop it in the ocean, all while Bond and the woman watch on he car's TV screen, which should be impossible unless there is a second helicopter that is just supposed to film the first one. They ran out of ideas for that car chase and Barbara Broccoli (age 7) suggested the helicopter/magnet scene.

Turbinosamente posted:General Gogol was in like half the films and I only remember him in Spy who Loved Me (because he was significant to the plot) and his random token appearance in Living Daylights. Definetly don't remember much about Octopussy, though the clown suit just came back into my mind. bleah. I believe that the rumour is that Gogol was intended to be the Soviet general in Daylights, but for whatever reason they couldn't get the actor so had to create "the new head of the KGB" General Pushkin. Similar to trying to get Barbara Bach to do a cameo in AVTAK and not being able to so having to create Pola Ivanova.
