Atlantis The Lost Empire never gets talked a lot, its a neat movie with some great designs from the guy who made Hellboy

Also it scarred me with the way the villain died
It does however have the one of my favorite Disney characters in Vinny the demo guy

Treasure Planet is also good especially when you realize that it was like a 20 year passion project that Ron Clements wanted to do since Little Mermaid, but Disney would keep dicking him around.

Soundtrack is early 2000s as gently caress though

As far as live action Disney goes, I've always had a soft spot for Holes has a great cast and the teen cast especially is great, I remember it vividly since the movie came out just as we were reading the book in 5th grade. The teen cast commentary is great too and its a shame that Shia is the only one that really did anything of note afterwards.

Prince of Egypt is the best non-3D, non-Disney, animated movie. Tell me I'm wrong.

It's really really good. I just have this nostalgic bias toward Secret of NIMH and American Tail
I actually never saw the original American Tail, we only had Fivel Goes West which is good in its own ways including having Jimmy Stewart's last movie performance :smith:

You know another Disney movie that never gets talked about? Recess: School's Out, its pretty decent for what it is; good voice acting, nice little coming of age story, and a soundtrack from the late 60s.

Was that direct to video or did that have a theatre release?
IIRC it had a short theatrical release, made more of a profit than Atlantis at the time

I loved A Goofy Movie and was disappointed by An Extremely Goofy Movie. One time in 6th grade we watched Land Before Time in music class and I cried when Littlefoot's mother died and people laughed at me and one other time in that music class I kicked a guy in the face, mostly by accident. An Extremely Goofy Movie just didn't have the same punch, with anything. I felt like the whole thing only had 2 jokes in it, and the rest was just noise.
Extremely Goofy Movie is what I grew up with and what I associated with college until probably the 7th grade.

The Aladdin ones were pretty good.

I mean, Return of Jafar kinda wasn't, in retrospect - it was a pilot for the TV show, and that fact is kind of glaring - but I definitely recall liking King of Thieves a lot. They even squeezed in the unused reprise of "Arabian Nights" from the first Aladdin to give the whole universe some closure.
King of Thieves is great in retrospect catching all the movie references that I didn't get as a 6 year old, like the Robocop joke.

This bit always made me laugh even though it is pretty random references humor
